Eden. The mare weighed so heavily on her mind these days. Had Bane even made the right choice when it came to pushing her away, to forcing her off. To making sure she left. Wouldn’t she be better off this way? Wouldn’t she be better off far away from Bane, after Bane had failed her so badly? Was it guilt that had her pushing Eden away, or something else? Too many questions, and all of them filling her head with so much noise.

And then the noise stopped. She’d walked squarely into the bulky creature. Had she really not noticed until it was too late? “Shit!” Ears flickering back, a bucket of cold water dumped over her-- a shock. There was someone else out here, seemingly as lost as she. Bane took a step backwards. The smell hits her next-- brackish water, moss, damp. With a far-off pang she thinks of her twin brother. She held less ill will than most of her sisters in the Lagoon’s direction. Once, they had been blood.

“Sorry, I guess it is.” Bane was not too proud to apologize for walking into him. Being inside someone else’s personal space wasn’t something she’d made a habit of, nor did she care to. “I could ask you the same question,” she peered at the creature, unsure of what to truly think. Sharing her thoughts with a stranger… at least for now, Bane was too tense for that. Softly, though, the mare sighed. The weight of her thoughts had grown heavy, and maybe she’d consider it.
