I remember seeing him briefly in Bridgeport as a kid, before the rule barring minors was passed. Thankfully he was still playing when I could pass for 18* and he was still playing. He was still s great pelotari, even though he was 40 by then.
Fun fact: The 1982-83 Bridgeport season featured an epic duel between Bolivar, who had been the champ his previous three seasons, and Cachin, who had been closing in on him. On clising night, Cachin led by one win, but if Bolivar had tied him, Boli would have been the champ based on a higher ITM percentage. Egurbi won the featured singles and doubles, and Cachin was the champ.
Egurbi seems to have been a really nice guy, as well. Rest in peace, sir.
