Voyager was the most perfect of fathers, of lovers, and even still - she could not have thought of herself as anything but alive for struggle. The blame she placed, however, not at all on his or her daughter’s shoulders. It was an ingrown and taught thing - this never satisfied in one place thing. It was fair to assume that there was never much to be done when wanderlust chewed at your insides, but at least they provided a small mental escape. At least her heart was full, even if her spirit felt muted by the stillness brought upon her in pregnancy and motherhood.
Loyalty had not been one of the learned traits she’d taken from her one-time people, but apparently it didn’t matter what originated it. It bound her to Voyager and Roamer and made her heart sing for the connection. Connection her own mother hadn’t had for her, or her father, or her siblings who dispersed almost an entire season before their maturity.
But this morning Roamer had been left in the summer dawn with Voyager so that she might range into the deeper parts of their segment of The Forest. She nibbled here and there as she walked, always unsatisfied and yet never seeming sad to turn back towards home.
Later, her reappearance would be well before the next nursing but well after the sun had taken flight into the sky. Not noon, but just barely morning still. She would not apologize for her foray, she never anymore, simply offer a softly apologetic smile to Voyager and move up to Roamer so that she might check her over for wellness.
For now it was her time, time for her innermost self to flex and expand out into a world that was so rarely hers alone and remember what it was to be valued amidst her little trio of a family..
