"Estoy bien. Está bien,I'm fine. It's okay" she murmured to herself, beneath her breath. Anxiety flickered in her bright eyes, but she did not waver from her mission. "Niñas, bebés, esto todo el tiempoGirls, babies, do this all the time."

Pale chin lifted, the exotic little mare forced courage into her bones and danced her way into the Commons and swept her gaze across the open expanse with falsified happiness. As a girl, Catalina had never imagined herself settling down for anyone, in any capacity. She had always had her father's wandering heart and her mother's sharp tongue, but this past year had dragged her through the emotional wringer and left her drained and empty.

She needed something, anything to pick her back up.

Normally, she would seek out her family, but they had all seemingly disappeared. No Switch or Tina on Salem. No Khajiit on Atlantis. No word of any of her brothers either. If she wanted a family, apparently she was going to have to make her own.

Once, the thought of doing that had felt like a noose around her neck. She'd seen the anger and pain on her mother's face each time one of her fathers disappointed her and had wanted nothing like that for herself. But something about the Atlantis man had made her yearn for something else, and last season, for the first in her life, she had finally given in to her hormones, only for the world to disappoint her.

The ache of that loss sat heavy in her chest, and while she was grateful, in a strange way, for never having had to see the face of the child she lost, the potential of what could have been was almost worse. She didn't want to feel that way again, anything had to be better than losing all of that all by herself.

And so, the wayward daughter of Khajiit and Switch found herself - for the first time - in the Commons. Lifting her bewhiskered chin, she called out for would-be suitors, and then squared her shoulders, prepared to at least try and play nice.
