Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

I want your heart on a platter

Oh, you want battle?
I'll give you war.

We have another boy, she murmured, and though I did not necessarily feel the sort of overwhelming pride that most new parents described, there was an inkling of something akin to satisfaction. Recruiting had been harder than ever as of late with the island territories keeping their members locked down and the Commons swarming with estrogen, so it was gratifying to think I was still contributing to the growth of the brotherhood through blood. Little did I know that even this contribution would soon be stolen from my Legacy as the Marauder.

Her next comment surprised me, and I pulled back slightly, brow furrowing as I considered her words. In truth, I did not know if I did or did not. The way she'd asked it almost implied an intimacy we'd never shared before. Which was not necessarily a bad thing, but certainly implied a softer side than I normally allowed any of my trinkets to see in me. I was not a devoted father, a caring lover, or a gentle companion. I was, and forever had been, rough and jagged at the edges. To think that she wanted me close to our child made me reconsider what she thought of me, and by extension, what impression I'd given her.

Eventually, however, despite the fact that it was likely a mistake, I nodded. Impressions be damned. "What did you name him?"

I stalked a few steps forward, watching for any shift in her expression. Some mares were extra feisty around their children, I'd learned the hard way, and while I wasn't normally opposed to a round of fisticuffs, I also would maybe, probably, most likely feel a little bad about fighting my own baby momma after she'd delivered me another healthy son.
