The silver length of his tail swished back and forward nervously, a nonverbal show of his concern for her. His ears strained forward as the mare spoke, her words and their rasp confirming that he was right to try and help her. The grullo stallion retreated a few steps when the bay lady tried to rise again to give her space. She failed on the first try, tumbling back into the wet sand. His gaze met hers, and pity shot through him at the sight of her exhaustion. 'I need water, please.'
Softening further to her plight, the silver-haired stallion nodded a few times. He would, of course, get her to some fresh water. There was a pool nearby, left from when the nearby river had flooded that spring; they would head there. But first.. "There's some nearby, but you'll have to be able to walk there. Try learning against me; let's see if that might help you balance." Carefully, Canis came to stand next to her, ready to help the bay maneuver toward the pool.
