a burning eye in a lifeless sky Posted on February 20, 2025 at 06:04:14 PM by Akkadian
The spotted boy took slow strides as he crept deeper into the jungle. The air was thick here with a degree of humidity that he had never experienced in the arid reaches of the Dunes. Already it clung dewily to the hairs of his coat as the two year-old strode forward. The curves of his dark ears twisted toward the answering clarion call from further within the territory. A ball of anxiety twisted in his gut as though the bile had turned into a writhing viper at the sound of the other male.
Whether Akkadian acknowledged it or not: this was the first time he would meet a stranger, someone presumably unconnected to the volatility his homeland fell prey to. He was truly on his own since Lucifer had promptly parted ways with him on the beach. Kade would have to make cautious choices if he wanted to get through this unscathed, much less get closer to any kind of goal he might construct for himself.
Kade took a long breath, inhaling the thick jungle air deep into his lungs as the young male calmed himself. If any of his mother's lessons had stuck, now was the time for them to be of use to him. The leopard-marked boy had scarcely taken another steadying breath before a silver stallion surged forth from the verge. Adrenaline shot through his veins in a cold burst in response.
Words snarl forth from the quicksilver male before him, standing solidly across the pathway as though to block Akkadian from the land within. If his words did not confirm that the stallion lived within this land, his body language sure conveyed it for him. The leopard youngster thinks quickly about how he has to assume this one knew nothing about Lucifer's deal with his father, which was the entire premise of his being here. He notes that thread of miscommunication and tugs on it.
"My name is Akkadian," the boy began carefully. Citrine eyes kept careful contact with every line of the silver male's body, his own muscles ready to spring him into a defensive maneuver should this go sourly. "Lucifer brought me here from Salem," came the explanation for his presence and then.. a nonplussed question. "Didn't he tell you I was coming?"
