Blood in the water Posted on August 26, 2025 at 01:16:06 PM by Addison
Addison found it hard to relax around anyone, even the young mare who had helped her and brought her here. Her body was in a constant state of fight or flight, but oh wait you can’t do either if you can’t see, it was draining to be this way every minute of the day.
And then there was her behaviour, going from someone who was independent, outgoing and confident to this! She didn’t know how to deal with it, so she ended up depressed and snappy, inadvertently pushing everyone away, even those who tried to help. Like Remi she ideally thought.
When he gave her his name she couldn’t help the surprised look because that was a long name that a bit of a mouthful she said with a slight smile I’ll definitely call you Aug.
She dropped her head then on a sigh and I need to apologies for my behaviour earlier, I’m not normally… she trailed off that wasn’t.. she once more couldn’t find the words.
With a muttered curse she shook her head, taking a deep breath before trying again I’m.. sorry. I was rude and dismissive, you were only trying to help she says quietly, it wasn’t the words she wanted to say but they would do.
She was hungry, which she guessed he could probably see she hadn’t been eating properly. She flinches when she first feels him move up against her, having not expected it she mumbles a sorry before nodding it’s fine, thank you she says her voice quiet but she slowly starts walking.
His words sink in then and she stops, her body tensing up wait the meadow? she asks, her eyes wide as she works to control her breathing Does… does that mean we have to go in the water? The words come out in a rush, unable to keep the panic out of her voice and dreading his reply.
