Disabled vets get lots of benefits and we all tell them we especially appreciate their service. Your kids not a disabled vet, is he? I seriously doubt you know any who really suffered from his wounds. I do and know they paid the price all their lives. It was my honor to eulogize him when he passed. He kept it very secret except to his wife, and I never knew the price he paid and how it happened until she told me the whole thing when I was writing his Eulogy.
He was a genuine hero, not just a fallen casualty. Its why I had no first cousins. DId you know that Public Law 94-142, the Aid to Handicapped Children Act, was passed BEFORE Reagan took office in 1980 and during his term, he shut down most mental hospitals...the irony was that during his second term, he developed Alzheimers and his staff covered for him.
