Hypocrisy isn't always a deliberate deception... many people just forgive themselves and don't connect the dots that their bad behavior is close to the same thng as they criticize others for.
All of us parents who grew up in the 60s-70s are hypocritical when raising our children. Especially women who conveniently forget what they did when they were young. Or what their brothers did. People who were never in the military would be shocked if they knew that culture! Hypocrisy is as natural as jealousy, hate, self interest, dishonesty and all the rest of those things on the Deadly Sins list.
People who realize this generally quit criticizing others and say nothing. They're usually not very religious because the old testament especially is ALL about Judgement. Jesus came to time to lecture judgment is something reserved for God, not men...but badmouthing, backstabbing bosses, and gossiping is just soo much fun. Have you noticed they tend to keep quiet about their own lives? They're all snipers who shoot from behind the trees. Politicians hate it when they get outted by the paid doxxers on TV! Replies:
