Ghost’s whisper in my ears.

And they sound so sweet.

Laying there with her bones, Nahawi did not have it in him to stand up from where he found himself. Instead, his head slowly turned when he heard his name called. Letting his good eye land upon the Lagoon stallion, Nahawi felt his ears tuck tight to his skull and his canine teeth became bared. He was not about to let someone come closer to the bones, even if it meant he would have to bite at their ankles and nostrils if they came too close.

“What does the Lagoon want with me, Thranduil?” He snapped. Nahawi's voice was old and breathy, but even in illness and five feet into his grave, it held the bite he once had as a young man. Grunting and shifting, the red dun found himself forcing his body up from the ground. It was atrocious with every crack, creak, and grunt he gave, but he did it. Moving his hooves, Nahawi positioned himself over the bones of Aase.

Shaking his head slightly, Nahawi forced his good eye to once more land upon Thranduil. “I won't go back. Never again.” His voice was full of venom. Being mostly bones and skin, he could not hold up in a fight. However, the dying stallion did not back down as he lowered his head and continued to glare at the male before him. All those seasons ago… Thranduil had been one of the ones Nahawi had to watch a bit more closely. Times may have changed now, but the old brute had no idea of that fact.
