Blood In The Water Posted on March 9, 2026 at 05:37:07 PM by Addison
Addison sighed, his voice told her how concern he was it’s nothing new, an old injury she said dismissively. The would had heal but she moved with a limp most times, oh she knew swimming would be the best physical exercise to try and help rebuild the muscles round her should, if that was at all possible. The claw marks down her right shoulder had mostly healed on the outside, but the internal damage still caused her issues at times.
Normally the bay mare could wander around well enough without pain, but falling over the long however wasn’t part of her normal routine and so had aggravated the old wound. However Augustus’ movement made her frown, partly because she couldn’t tell if he was trying to find a wound or trying to groom her. The latter she hadn’t actually had much experience of since the accident that blinded her, and what a dark day that was. After that it was just her and Remi, and spent more time concerned for the injured blind mare than anything else. Plus she hadn’t exactly been the most welcoming during her time in the inlet. It was only Remi she allowed to get close, well and now Augustus.
She chuckled I can’t work out if your looking for a wound or trying to groom me it was probably the first time in a long time she had chuckled, the feeling felt rusty. Twisting her head round in an effort to see what he was doing was futile, but still a ingrained motion, however her lack of sight made her muzzle brush up against his.
That hadn’t been the plan as she pulled her head back sharply sorry, sometimes it’s like I forget I can barely see anything, like muscle memory she mumbled out her apology. It her mind and teachings as a youngster, touching muzzles was seen as a intimate touch, augustus was the one she was most familiar with but she was pretty not in that way. She couldn’t imagine anyone wanting a mostly blind and scarred cripple in that way. That thought made her sigh and bring an ache to her heart. And all because her sister wanted all the attention on her.
