I hope that someone that is close to the Altman family give them this message. After his tragic death we started hearing rumors that the city has pallets of handheld seek branded thermal imagers for individual firefighter use but had not distributed them due to a certain chief. Brandon Keller will not allow them to be distributed because he thinks firemen will utilize the record function. The thing about TIC’s as we all know is that they don’t show facial features, name tags on coats or anything else discernible. These thermal imagers could have potentially saved the young man’s life had he been equipped with the sub $1000 tool. Maybe he would have seen signs of a weakened floor, burned out areas or high heat at the floor. We all know the department failed this young man in more than one way. It’s time the leadership starts to pay for these transgressions. Replies:
