Demon Children
The ground shakes.
On a dark morning in summer, the world starts to wake with a pained sound escaping its lungs. Birds take flight into the air, singing their startled song as hooves by the dozens strike the soil. A world of once tall grass begins to fall, growing shorter and shorter until dirt flicks up in sprays of dust and grass crushes down like it will be turned into hay. Creeks that were once crystal clear turn muddy as the hooves move, speaking of the amount of bodies heading all in one direction.
“Dad?” A voice calls, speaking to the dark giant that is Lucifer. The demon's head turns, but no words escape the stallion's lips. For once in his life, Lucifer looked sad as he stared at the genuinely curious gaze of Ceyx. As they moved though, Lucifer turned his gaze to the side, noting the many others that had joined their movements. From all across the islands, bodies moved together at a whisper on the wind. Lucifer had started it, but it was because of his sister that it really had reached far and wide. From her, it went even farther as his head turned, spotting someone from his past he never figured he would see again.
Looking at himself, the black body of Noctifer blinked his tired eyes. Farther back, Noctifer mingled with the other bloodlines that moved across the Crossing island. He should not be surprised to see so many, but his heart raced in his chest. What was the meaning of this? Why were so many coming here of all places? Confused but unwilling to speak, the black shire cross stallion looked back to his father, waiting to see where they were going.
Rolling his neck from side to side, the youngest of Lucifer’s current children in this lineup, Beleth, let out a deep sigh. He was confused, but showed none of it. Instead, the smaller drum built male just moved on, his side warming as a body touched him. Narrowing his eyes, the buckskin colt looked beside him. Startled, the stallion watched as a black and white body smiled at him before moving up by what he could only assume was the painted woman’s mother. “Odd.”
