During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

It was times like these, when she was slinking through strange and unfamiliar, and quite possibly hostile, lands, that Atra wished she had the abilities of certain other animals. Like a chameleon, for example; or an owl. Something that had some sort of bodily feature that allowed it to be more aware of its surroundings then other animals. Yes, crawling through the dark forests of an unknown territory seemed to stir up these strange yearnings within her timid heart. But alas, she was SOL. The lithe black wolfess would just have to live with what she had at her disposal. And you can be quite assured that she was putting all of her natural gifts to full use. Her ears were perked and moved constantly, swiveling to catch every little chip of a bird, every little snap of a twig. Her nose was constantly darting to the ground, catching scents of the animals that lived in the lands of Munashii Gekko. And of course her eyes were on the constant look out for even the tiniest movement. It seemed every few minutes, she would stop suddenly as a rabbit darted across her path, or some startled bird burst from a shrub or tree. Her heart was pounding with both fear and nerves, for Silence definantly had seemed to transmit a sense of “be careful” when he had welcomed her, which had only added to her usual uneasiness of being in a strange territory. Add that on top of her growing anxiety of facing Hope, the white wolfess whom she had come to question. As much as she wanted to learn the truth of Blossom Forest’s past, she had a feeling that the seemingly mysteriously gifted wolf would not like the thought of answering them.

But the usually timid black wolf held within her now an unusually strong feeling of determination. She was going to learn the truth, even if it… well… killed her. Though she definantly hoped that it did not come down to that, as this was not how she wanted her life to end. As much as she was a coward, she held the instinct within her to live, as all wild animals did. She, like most wolves, would do whatever it took to stay alive, however demeaning it was to their social appearance. If you had to submit to live, then that’s what you did. If you had to eat off some week old carcass in order not to starve to death, you ate it. It was as simple as that. Sadly, she had seen several wolves that seemed to have a lesser sense of this instinct, and she felt very sorry for them. A true wolf was the picture of survival. It seemed that that picture was starting to get a little fuzzy. It truly was a shame. Atra hoped that one day soon, the apparent fools that were plaguing the species would either disappear or wise up. She hated to see the name of wolf disgraced by those who parade around and act like their all that, even when they don’t know the first thing about wolf etiquette.

By now she had lost sight of Silence, having stopped every once in a while when she was spooked by something. It didn’t matter, as it was quite easy to follow his scent trail, let alone the blood that was left on leaves and various other objects along the path. She didn’t try to catch up to him, as she wanted him to reach Hope first, and allow the wolfess some time to eat and get used to the thought that Atra was here again. She wasn’t sure if the white wolf’s brother would tell her why she was here, but she had a feelings he would at least say something that hinted to her motives. But when she finally caught the strong scent of the female, she stopped, trying to gather her nerves once more. There was also a scent of another wolf, though it wasn’t as prominent as the two adults. It was definantly puppish. That caused a spark of curiosity within her: just how did a pup wind up here? The two wolves that she had encountered here had definantly been siblings, so they couldn’t have bred together… A few more deep inhales brought her to the conclusion that the pup had not been born here, at least not to Hope. Their scents weren’t related at all, in fact he smelled strongly of places that were far away from this pack. She figured that the little thing had gotten lost and had stumbled upon Munashii Gekko. It brought the slightest bit of comfort to her knowing that they were helping the pup out, which made sense as to why Silence was bringing the kill he had made all the way over here. If the pup had not been there, Hope probably would have gone with her brother to hunt, after all it was easier with two bodies. So it was with a slightly, very slightly, calmer heart that she took those last few paces towards the spot where the wolves were gathered.

As she came into view, her eyes swept over the scene. The pup was definantly a young one, and by the look of the eyes she figured that he was blind. Atra felt a sudden sympathy for the little thing. It was hard to survive when you were blind unless you had wolves looking out for you. Hope was eating a few yards away from where Atra stood, Silence standing by, the provider of the meal. He wasn’t eating, and she knew that he wouldn’t take any food until the pup and his sister had eaten. Atra hung back, her ears pressed against her head, her tail curled firmly under her stomach. She kept her body as low to the ground as possible, making herself look like as less of a threat as possible. She skirted around the group before lying down, her head resting on her paws; she watched the wolves carefully, patiently waiting her turn for the attention of Hope, that was why she was here after all. But she would be as polite as possible, and so she would wait until she was done eating before asking her questions.
