At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

Both Whispers In The Dark and her brother had taken some time away from the pack life. They enjoyed being back home, but things were odd. Pack members getting attacked and raids at the lake and other things they felt the need to step back from. It wasn't anyone's fault, and the twins had no plans of staying away forever. She had to admit, as nice as the peace outside of the pack was, she missed being able to stumble upon a pack mate and socialize a bit. She loved Comatose, but being with her twin at all times was starting to drive them both a little crazy. She'd suggested some time off for them to go separate ways. Explore a bit on their own. They decided a time and place to meet again, and proceeded to head off in different directions. She figured he would be off to some creepy corner of Blossom Forest; he loved slinking around dark places.

She, on the other hand, craved people. Other wolves. Not a lot of them, but some decent, non-twin conversation would be quite pleasant. She had limited experience dealing with other strays, but Whispers hoped she might find at least one with some wit in their words. She recalled a wolf named Click who had made her laugh with a few snippy remarks before. Comatose had a dry sense of humor that was also on the dark side, and he took thing more literal than she tended to. She found herself craving company that … well, to put it most honestly, wasn't her brother.

Dark brown paws padded along an unfamiliar trail. Sure, they had grown up in Blossom Forest, but they had never left Cold Summers during that time. Now back, and not currently part of the pack, it was time to really learn about their original home. They found a new place to sleep every night, usually near the lake, so that was where they had left from. It wasn't too long before the beach was completely behind her and the trail lead her uphill into forest. The forest grew thick for what seemed an hour. She was taking it slow, observing and sniffing things out, also being sure to snap a group of twigs or scratch a tree here and there to mark the trail back towards the lake.

A few hours worth of easy traveling and her ears picked up the light sound of water flowing. A trial broke off from the main, and she followed it, coming closer to the water. Eventually taking the detour paid off, and she emerged face to face with a landmark she had only heard of before. It was a giant stone staircase, with water cascading over the steps and collecting at the bottom into a deep pool. The sun caused a glittering effect across the top of the water's glassy surface. It was something of a breathtaking view. The staircase itself was quite large, rising up over all and any canine creatures. Her large, dark brown eyes started at the top and scaled down, trying to absorb every detail into her mind. A small smile formed on her lips … it was only the beginning of what Blossom Forest had to offer a curious mind.

Stepping out completely from the path, Whispers walked up to the pool. After lapping a few times at the water, she looked around. There were other wolves there, not many, but a few. It was nice, actually. Looking back towards the stone formation, she noticed a ledge that jutted out from the staircase a few feet or so over the water. She hunched down and in a motion leaped up to the ledge, careful to keep her balance so she didn't tip over into the water. Though it would probably be refreshing, she wasn't particularly interested in a bath at the moment. Turning and facing outward, she laid, hanging her paws over the edge so her toes could dip into the pool. With a content sigh she watched the small, passing crowds, hoping someone interesting might come by.
