During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

we are the inseparable world, the earth and the sky
we are the seas and the shores, you and I

It was a quaint partnership the pair had, so alike and yet so different. One was the bright rising sun, as white as snow and clear as day, a fire burning in his eager mind. The other was the quiet, soothing night, black like velvet with fire in his veins rather than his mind. But they were twin brothers and shared a bond like no other. They'd shared everything their whole lives, even before they'd arrived, they were one and the same. They knew each other as well as they knew themselves and were half a whole when parted. When they were born, despite their colour differences, their parents somehow knew that the pair were special. They shared a sister too, but there was just something between them that spoke of a bond greater than simple sibling similarities. And they would have it no other way.

Loping slowly over the leaf-littered forest floor, the boys matched each other step for step, their coats brushing side by side. Their closeness had another reason however, one that became more obvious the closer one looked at the snowy brother. His eyes were a milky, cloudy blue, in stark contrast to his brothers' amber-greens, he saw not light, but absolute darkness. His tread was steady however, confident, he trusted his brother to lead him true, to tell him where his paws should go and where they should not.

The pair had no specific destination in mind, but were looking for a home. It was Rise's detemined exploration that had brought them to this foreign land, his eternal search for the sister they had lost. The tales and trails they had followed for their whole lives had led them to Blossom Forest and it's many territories. They were both desperately hoping that this would be the place, that they'd find Sun and she'd remember them. They hoped for a joyful reunion, where two would become three and they could relay the news to their sorrow-wrought parents. Rise more than Set, the sweet, dark face of Sun was the last thing he saw, the image burned into his mind for all eternity. And of course, wherever Rise went, Set would follow.

Nudging the dark boy with his muzzle, Rise stopped the pair, his sensitive nose picking up tell-tale scents. A pack had made it's home nearby and the boys needed a base, some sense of security and comfort while they scouted the rest of Blossom Forest. "Brother, do you think?" He trailed off, a look of deep longing in his sightless eyes. Set didn't need to ask, he knew immediately what the pale boy was thinking. "That's what we're here t' discover, Rise. But even if she's not here, t' forest be vast. We will find her." His voice was deep in comparison to his brother, almost ominous and gruff. ""You're right, we will. We 'ave to, we been searchin' for six years. She could be anywhere or anyone by now. Mebbe she's a great alpha, with a mate and puppies. I think she'd be a great mother, don't you?" Set simply grunted, quite happy to let his brother do all the talking.

Taking a few more paces forward, until they had approached the border, the boys stopped and waited. Rise settled himself on the floor, drinking in the scents that surrounded him, while Set stood over him, watching and protecting as he always had. The pair waited quietly, they were hoping for an active pack, not one that they had to summon to their sides, but one that would swiftly find them.
