At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

Medium-sized paws trotted through a patch of trees, unknown to the forest, unknown to the wolves several lengths away. The afternoon was very much still young, and the bright sun glittered in the sky; a giant star that seemed bigger and brighter than most. The wolf carefully stepped over roots and went around brambles, careful not to snag his fluffy russet pelt. A scar lifted from him leg to about the top where the limb connected to his torso. The pelt bounced up and down as he passed through the trees, not staying in the shadows, but not staying in the open either. Green orbs looked through the trees, preferring to stay unnoticed, but not minding if a passerby spotted the flow of fur and muscle swishing through the forest.

Shuko did not know where he was going. The trees seemed blunt in this part of the forest, as well as being small and fragile. Aspen and small oaks spurted up from the ground, trying to fight for sunshine that would reach every single tree if they fought for it. He stopped and raised his head scenting the air and trying the breeze. Fresh water reached into his nose, giving off the realization that he was probably near a place with a huge amount of water to go around for the wolves that needed it. Where in Blossom Forest would that be? Yes, most likely Leisure Lake, unless there was some secret place with water, but that could be another story for another day.

Shuko broke the treeline, walking proud and walking free. He loved the thought about being able to do anything he wanted without the thought of having to turn around to see if anyone was trying to kill you or not. Shuko had lived a strange childhood, one that most wolves didn’t really come across. His father kept him captive in his own land, afraid that he could overrule his position as pack leader. Would Shuko do such a thing? Yes, probably, but that gave no right for Shuko’s father to do such a thing. Did his father stop him from seeing the world? Clearly, no, for if that did happen, Shuko would be as blind as a bat, and I can promise you this, dear readers: Shuko’s eyesight in is wonderful condition.

Shuko kept walking down a dirt trail where, from where he stood, he saw the beginnings of water. He was sure that this water went on for miles, but it was only called a lake, which means that is is not as big as a sea or an ocean. Perhaps it is close to the size of the sea he thought. It was a very logical explanation, but he did not know the answer, and wasn’t seeking out to discover it, so he kept on walking. The cold dirt under his pads evolved into a warm sand, which Shuko dug his claws into and felt the grains slipping through the tops of his claws. He smiled as closed his eyes, and made the decision that he might as well stay here for a while. He didn’t mind if company washed over his shores; in fact, he preferred it if someone knew could be engraved into his mind.

Shuko smiled, and started looking for a place to lay down and sunbathe. Down the shoreline, his green pools spotted a tree curved towards the ground. Some of it’s leaves had floated to the ground, and Shuko knew that this was the place his young body would lay. It was a hot afternoon that day, and the shade would provide the perfect amount of heat for Shuko and anyone who cared to join him. He layed down next to it and stretched, feeling the heat absorb into his pelt. He smiled, and closed his eyes waiting for wolves that serve his craving for company.
