At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

Leila

Leila smiled fondly at the words he so tactfully responded, declaring that no matter what she should choose he would always be her friend. She was beginning to like this brute even more so and that was not all that common; usually she would have a little laugh and move on with her life. Now she had a friend and friendship meant commitment but she would not run this time for she had left her pack for a little fun and how could she have fun without friends? “Well Kalgalath,” she began with a steady approach whilst her kissers rose in a confident smile. “I hope that most wolves I will encounter will be as welcoming and as friendly as you are,” she commented honestly. She had expecting to find Blossom Forest full of desperate wolves with no lives apart from families and their pack but Kal seemed not to match that description. Following the brutes gaze she focused on her sky where clouds skimmed the once blue sky – the sun had seemed to quieten down for the day but it still matched a pleasant temperature. Leila yawned broadly; feeling oddly tiresome in the relaxed mood of their polite and rather satisfying conversation.

Leila was not at all good or professional at recounting lies and it was obvious that the accusation she had attempted to divert had failed but Kalgalath seemed not to mind. In fact, quite the opposite – he winked and began to reply from her previous remark. He was in the middle of judging this words when the nickname she had crowned him seemed to process. ‘Kal-pal!?’ – He had exclaimed as if the world had been ending. Leila stiffened; she hadn’t offended him had she? A sigh of relief escaped her maw as she watched curious as he rolled about on the ground laughing! After he straightened himself up Leila commented: “Well just feel lucky I did not shorten your name down to ‘gal,’” the vixen noted with a small laugh. “You are now Kal-pal got it? Good.” She stated and giggled childishly. It felt good to have someone to joke around with, “I’ve never had a nickname although I made a few for some of my previous pack members…”

The conversation turned to a more serious approach or at least something slightly mature. She spoke about her past and in return he spoke about his.
‘I do apologize that your childhood was so controlled. My own childhood was a happy one. My parents were the alphas, but I decided that their pack was not where I belonged. It never felt right, so I left. I found Blossom Forest here about two years ago and joined Munashii Gekko as I told you, but it wasn’t quite right. I left to try to find somewhere belonged, but my paws led me back here. I picked up Kong’s scent, and I guess that it how I came to belong to Aurora Borealis.’

She listened intently to his tale; keen to know more about her ‘Kal-pal,’ she smiled. “Munashii Gekko? Another pack – how many packs are there in Blossom Forest?” She enquired inquisitively. It appeared she had much to learn about Blossom Forest and she had a feeling Kal would be one of the most knowledgeable of wolves.
