During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

The Way of the Warrior

The white titan yawned, rising from his midmorning nap. He had called to the young maiden Kobato a while ago, and she had not arrived, so he had decided to nap, taking a break from patrolling the boundary for his lord and master. The deep inhale of air was refreshing – the wood was a bit chilly, and the cold oxygen revived his system and fully awakened him. And that was when his icy orbs caught sight of the princess of the terra – Kobato. She had surely taken her own, sweet time to respond to his call, but he really did not expect any different from her. The fae’s plume swayed when she saw him and she came up to the brute and nudged his maw in greeting. The brute froze, physical contact being a foreign concept to him. Travelling the world on his own for a few years had enriched his senses, his ability to survive, for sure. But, as seen, it had decimated his social skills. His loss of his mother, and then later on in life, the loss of his adopted mother AND the loss of his mentor, Kalgalath, contributed to his social awkwardness. No, perhaps not awkwardness… stoicness. The brute’s focus was upon his fealty to his Lord. Social interactions were but a lingering memory on the rear most part of his brain.

The nudge of the fae was therefore almost a painful contact for him, as it was a kindness. The brute knew that the fae meant nothing by it – he had seen how affectionate she was with Master. But it was a shock to his system, one that he was unsure of how to react to. And so, he remained motionless until the fae withdrew from him, giggling all the while. She ran about him, and then opened her maw, to speak. Hihi Aindreas! Today I learned how to swim! It was scary at first because I thought I was going to drown! A slight panic ran through the brute’s system… Serris would be most unhappy should the fae have drowned.

Clearing his throat, the brute opened his own maw to speak, for the reason he had called to her was for the purpose of conversing with her. He needed to improve the quality of his vocals, and the only way to do that was by increasing their usage. “Swim, princess? And just where did you learn to do that?” The brute’s nares swelled, once more taking in the scent of a different pack, and also of a foreign brute. His orbs resisted the urge to slit – this was the princess of the pack, and he would not interrogate her, though the thought crossed his mind to inform Serris of his princess’ mishaps. “And from whom, Kobato?

Kobato finally sat in front of him, though it lasted but a moment. She inquired as to what he had been doing, and the brute’s face remained stoic. “In the absence of your father, I have been patrolling the pack’s border, ensuring the securing of the border and the safety of its inhabitants. Serris is my lord and master and I live to serve and protect him.” The snowy titan spoke his words honestly, though his vocals remained monotone. It was the way he felt, for it was the way that his mentor had brought him up – loyal til death. The fae’s high soprano rang through Aindreas’ audettes once more, dragging him from his introverted thoughts and memories of a brute who was long gone by now. His orbs watched as the femme lowered herself into a bow, saying Let’s play let’s play!

Aindreas allowed a brief smile, and remembered how when he had first met the fae, she had referred to him as a knight. Though he had initially been confused as to its meaning, he had since figured it out. “What do you wish to play, my dear princess? I, your ever faithful servant, your protective knight, shall do as you command.” Though playing with the young fae may seem like a tedious task to some, it was not so for Aindreas. Serris clearly cared for the little one – her happiness would no doubt increase his happiness. And so, Aindreas gladly played along.
