The Cavern of Secrets holds much more than you can imagine. Once a forbidden place, the ban on entrance has been released...yet, is it a good idea to enter?

Once a great battle had been fought in this cavern, against a dark beast that had once - and still might - dwell here. No one knows where he disappeared to, but there are rumours...

In the darkness of the cave, Athene could barely make out the form of the brute that she had ran into. There was just enough light to make out the edge of his coat, along with the reflective gleam in his orbs and the shine of his canines as he spoke, parting his kissers. His coat was clearly of a darker color… it was likely that he could see her much better than she could see him, her own coat mostly white with some darker streaks running along her dorsal. The fae was gladdened that her smile drew a smile from the brute, although it was barely visible. As the brute spoke, Kahlan tried to observe his body motions, but found it difficult to judge him in the dim like. His vocals rang out in the night, and her audettes swiveled forward to focus upon the voice in the darkness. Sorry, I don’t think I saw you behind me. I was focused on finding something within these depths and I am sure I wouldn’t have known you were there if you hadn’t bumped into me. My name is Zev. Who are you?

Athene was pleasantly surprised that the brute did not seem to be upset that she had ran into him. She was impressed with herself – even in the caverns, in which each sound was magnified greatly by the reverberating surfaces – that her footfalls had gone unnoticed. She was naturally a quiet lupine, choosing most of the time to be quiet instead of speak, making the most of her vocals by putting great meaning into each word she chose. The fae had also always stepped silently… and the caves had certainly put that skill to the test.

The fae remained silent, her plume swaying to and fro and she thought about how to respond best to the brute. He had asked for her name. A simple enough question, but one that came at quite the price. A name was valuable, and should be earned. Though there were truly times when a name should be given automatically, such as when she and her sister had submitted themselves at the borders of Spring Grounds, and she would surely provide her name to any of her packmates (the assumption being that any lupines that had been accepted into the pack were trustworthy), strangers were unknown. Strangers were dangerous. Giving out a name so freely could be unwise. So the question remained: had the brute earned such knowledge? Perhaps not quite yet… Athene remained silent a few more moments before opening her maw and answering his question with another.

My name is my secret
and shan’t be told without credit.
As for the treasure you seek
Please tell me more – my interest is piqued.

The fae felt that her words would show some more of the brute’s true personality – would he be upset by her refusal to give him her name? Or would he be gracious and understanding, and share his plan for adventure with her? The fae, though she did tend to be quiet, she always enjoyed a good adventure. With her clumsy, overconfident sister, such adventures tended to be hap hazardous and were a bad idea. Athene’s gaze stayed upon his reflectors, the only part of Zev’s body that she could constantly visualize, and waited for his response.
