The Way of the Warrior

The fae’s head raised, a look of disgust apparent in her eyes. The look last just a moment, until after Aindreas’ words rang out and reached her ears, at which time the fae’s gaze softened and a laugh erupted from the fae’s maws. Was she mocking him? The snowy brute flattened his audettes at the sound, his kissers trembling and almost raising upwards to reveal his canines. Although the laughter was pleasant to hear, he did not like the meaning behind it. The brute remained motionless until the fae’s hysterics ceased, and she regained her breath. A grin laid upon her kissers, and then she began to speak. Is that what this is about? You think my strange reaction was from your eyes? Not at all, I love your eyes! They are the most beautiful gazers I have seen. The fae laughed again, but then froze and blushed. A cough wracked her system and she turned her gaze away.
Aindreas’s audettes slowly raised themselves and his kissers relaxed. She thought his eyes were beautiful? Aindreas coughed due to the new awkwardness that had set into the situation. Though this was awkward, at least there were no supposed negative feelings sent in his direction anymore. Apparently there never had been. You completely misinterpreted my body language but maybe I should have been more clear. And by how easily her words had flown off of her tongue, her previous shyness and timidity could not have been caused by her normal personality. So what had caused it? The brute relaxed his stance a bit and calmed his plume as well. A small grin grew on his kissers. So… she could be his new hunting partner after all! The brute’s salivaries began to water a bit at the thought of the prey that they would catch – two wolves meant they could take down some larger prey, and good eating.
As the fae returned her gaze to Aindreas’ own, the brute opened his maw to speak. “So why did you ask me to look after your brother? Do you not intend to join the pack after all?” The brute began to think back on their dialogue, much of both her words and body motions no longer making sense since the fae had confessed that his eyes did not bother her at all. Was she just an odd fae? Aindreas did not really know what to think, he did not know anything about faes. He could not even ask Kobato, for his dear little friend had disappeared from the packs lands. And he would not thinking to bother Serris with such a menial question.
His mind now upon his master, Aindreas’s gaze travelled to the wood behind him, and wondered where Serris was. Perhaps the brute – the one that may or may not be Genisys’ brother – was giving him trouble. Or perhaps Serris was merely getting to know the brute well. Aindreas would be a good little soldier and wait for his lord’s arrival patiently… As he turned back to the fae, he noticed that her face once more wore a stoic façade. Her maw opened and spoke of the lord that Aindreas just had been looking for.
“My lord Serris will arrive once he is done dealing with the other stranger at the border. He is likely doing a thorough examination to determine whether the brute, or your brother, if it is indeed him, will make a good addition to Lord Serris’ pack.” The brute fell silent again. Serris would arrive when it suited him. His icy gaze remained upon the fae, wondering why she would want his company. “So… where have you travelled from?” The brute asked the question merely to pass the time. If she was going to be his new pack mate, and perhaps his hunting partner, he wanted to know about her experiences.
