aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Hellene sighed, her maw opening briefly enough to just let out the breath that escaped her lungs. The days seemed so much longer when she was alone, with her sister to keep her company. Was it her fate to remain alone whilst her sister went off on her romps and adventures, anxiously awaiting Athene’s return? It had been Athene’s idea, after all, to join a pack. However, Athene had taken off as soon as the pair of them had been accepted. This was not where she belonged, this was not where home was for her. She had been in the packlands for days, weeks, months… Hellene did not know. The grey and russet femme had lost track of the days as she wallowed in her loneliness. Hellene sighed again and for a moment she laid silently, completely quiet, as she thought about the realization that her continuous sighing was her way of trying to attract attention in order for someone to convince her to stay. But here, there was no one. Here, she was alone. No one cared for her here, beside her sister, Athene, and the one femme who had bothered to converse with her, Zilo. It was time to go. This place felt so disjointed… so wrong. It was time. The femme raised herself off of the earth and onto her paws, all of her muscles tensing as she shook out her pelt in an attempt to shake the scent of the pack off of her pelt. Though she loved her sister dearly, this was Athene’s home, not her own. She belonged to Spring Grounds pack no more. Hellene slowly exited the terra, the back of her mind already wondering if she was making the right choice. But her mind was made up. As her paws crossed the border, the fae suddenly felt lighter. She felt free once more.

The russet and grey femme travelled through Blossom Forest, utterly aware of her single being and how alone she was. However, it was a relief to be physically alone. In Spring Grounds, she had been a part of a pack, a part of a family, and yet had been left to her own devices. It had been torture. So while she felt slightly better with her state of being matching her internal emotions, she now felt as if she had to find where she belonged. She knew from the years of travelling with her sister that she was not a wolf who was meant to be a solitary one. And yet she was alone once more. Living in the pack had been awkward at best, but perhaps it had just been the wrong pack.

Hellene set her nose to the ground and tried to pick up on a scent trail that was most travelled upon, when she came upon one that she thought would be ideal. The femme kept her nares flared as she followed it, inhaling old, leftover scents in addition to newer scents. When the fae finally stopped at the thick invisible wall of scents that she recognized as the border to a terra, her amber gaze lifted and saw naught but woodland. The fae’s muzzle raised toward the sky that was painted with the vibrant colors of the aurora borealis and let loose a croon that was twined with sadness, loneliness, and a need to belong. Her haunches doubled and her weight rested backward onto her hind paws, her plume curling around her as she waited for someone to arrive to greet her.
