The Cavern of Secrets holds much more than you can imagine. Once a forbidden place, the ban on entrance has been released...yet, is it a good idea to enter?

Once a great battle had been fought in this cavern, against a dark beast that had once - and still might - dwell here. No one knows where he disappeared to, but there are rumours...

The brute paused, clearly wanting the fae to scramble through the tight passage first, but fine he conceded. Fine. But when I am out, I will not hesitate to send you in front of me. The brute ran on, Athene close and right at his heels. She had no doubt that he felt horrible about going first, but it made the most sense. If the water got too high too quickly, the brute could drown while trying to shuffle his way through the exit tunnel. Her honey eyes frantically watched as the brute ran as far as he could before beginning to scramble through the tight spot. It took precious moments for him to make it through, and by that time the water had already swollen so that it reached her ankles. Without wasting a moment, the femme crouched down and began to follow the brute through, scrambling on all four paws. As she eked through, she felt the water lapping at her legs rising slowly but surely. All that she could hear was the thunderous roar as the roof of the cavern collapse downward and then the torrential downpour that followed. The fallen roof caused a sudden surge of water to sweep at her from behind, helping her forward motion and pushing her the rest of the way out of the cavern. She made sure to grab on to the cavern floor with her claws to prevent the wave of water from pulling her back. She ran toward the exit and was relieved to see the brute as she ran around the last corner. The water began to swell faster and faster, and before she knew it the water was at her neck and then both she and Zev were treading water in order to survive.

The fae began to scramble at the steep wall of the cliff that she had fallen down earlier, but because of how soaked she was, the once well-textured wall had become a slippery slope that she just couldn’t get a grip on. “I can’t…” Athene couldn’t find the words to put to her lips to express the fear she was feeling. Was this going to be the end of her? She tried to calm herself – freaking out would only cloud her thinking, which it was already doing. If they could stay calm and tread water, the surging water could level them upward to the main level, saving them from the danger of trying to scramble up the cliff. It would be slow, but it would work. They would have to rush to exit the cavern, of course, but it could work. She opened her maw and explained her plan to the brute. “The raising water could carry us up without any work required on our part aside from keeping our heads above water.” She did not even notice the fact that once again, rhyme was absent from her vocals. But then something brushed up against her paw – it was slimy, and though she thought originally that perhaps it was loosened ground from the earth, it then rubbed against her and she kicked against, realizing that it was something real and something alive. Her scream frightened her, for she could not remember the last time that she had made any loud noise. “Zev… there is something in here with us.
