Pine, spruce and firs alike...

Just as he had, she found her large and yet still feminine skull dipping down in her own bow of sorts, both in acknowledgement and respect to him. Her auditory senses ached to hear his voice again, and so she graced him with her own- gravely in all it's glory, but this time, laced with an unknown emotion she could not quite identify herself, making her tones come off as somewhat thick. "Greetings, kind sir." It was not her usualy manner to ellict playful speech, but she could not help herself. She felt happy, relaxed, and of course playful at that moment, thanks to Iblis now before her, and the lucky draw of Fate. "I have been traveling, as sleep did not seem apparent this past night. It is a pleasure to meet you, Iblis." Speaking his name for the first time, each syllable rolled off her tongue with ease, as if she had known the name her entire life. She rather liked the sound of it as well, when he spoke it, and when she herself did. She could get used to such a thing. "You may call me Rhae." What he had mentioned about being lone, but never feeling alone again, had her tilting her skull ever so curiously to the right, her bright teal eyes taking on a rather curious bright sheen. She somewhat followed his meaning, and yet did not in the same moment. And so her only thought was to clarify for herself- it was only logical. "Why is it that you are lone, and yet feel as if you will never be alone?" There was part of her mind that hoped- begged, even, that he was implying herself. That he was going to stay beside her no matter what, but it was such a silly thought. A thought reserved for the young and naive, and not an experienced wolf such as herself. And yet something, deep inside her, something that she could not quite place told her what she thought was true. That he was indeed forever to be here, and that there was something quite- yet again, extraordinary keeping him tethered in place. Tethered to Rhae. The thought caused a small and warm smile to creep across her jaw, as she maintained her eye contact with him. Bright, foamy teal held dark chocolate steady and firm, willing him not to look away or turn his attention elsewhere. She wanted his attention trained on her, as selfish as it may have seemed, but such a term as 'selfish' did not seem to appropriately fit this scene. It all felt rather right, rather natural, and for this the multitoned wolf was grateful. Unable to contain herself much longer, she closed some of the distance between them. What had been a meter, dwindled down to a mere foot, her height becoming more and more obvious compared to him, but something she no longer focused on. She did not mind that she gazed down upon him, nor did she rightly think about him gazing up at her. She was content in being so near to him, able to observe and memorize every minute detail about him, from the exact hue and pattern of his fur to each individual scar that laced his flesh. She wanted to know him well- she wanted to know all of him, and so she would. There was no fear that he did not want the same, or that he would decline or reject her. There was simply something that told her with ease that it was what he wanted himself, that he wanted the same. And she trusted this thing, though she did not know it as Fate. She had never learned of such a thing, nor had she ever learned or even heard of the art that is imprinting. Perhaps through this she would learn, but she was content to simply experience and enjoy what she currently was- kept in the dark or not. |
