Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens

It seemed that while she had lost one child, she had gained another child in the process. Poor Mortz wasn't having any better of a time than she was at this point, both his adoptive parents where gone... Weylin to the sea monster and then Selene up and vanished to a place she did not know where. She'd been so busy lately with her heart broken by the disappearence and possible death of her daughter that she hadn't known a fight had occured for all of Glorall, yet again. It seems this pack might be cursed with the need to filter out leaders like a slouth box filters out gold. She is trying to teach Mortz how to fight, to make sure that he grows up strong like he'd wanted to. We say try because Everchime is not a fighter and she knows next to nothing about fighting. Only hunting and even at that she is a poor hunter.

She remembers a time when all the world was whole, were wolves did not live in worry about who would be their next ruler, back when she'd first arrived and these lands were begining to get re-introduced to the wolves that had been here most of their lives, if not all their lives. As it was Mortz was getting ready to pounce on her from behind a log, hidden from view the male was growing larger and larger each day, one day he would nearly surpass what Weylin had been, he would tower over Everchime and most of the pack, he would be a grand hunter and master fighter. His paws were huge and his weight gain since Everchime had taken over feeding him was astronomical.

He was two now and a growing boy needed much neutrience in his diet, mainly the fish he was able to catch for the two of them and the hares that Everchime's slim and athletic body was able to chase down. She slowly walked past the log, knowing that he was there and being prepaired for the weight of him as he leaped over the log and landed square on her back like a cheetah would attacking a prey animal. With a THUMP! he landed square on her back and forced her to roll over on her back. She strikes first with quick small snaps at his face area, not wanting to actually harm him but to begin the teaching process. His own mouth, smaller than her's still, opened wide and a harsh whine leaked from behind the pink tongue that filled his mouth. Paws raised he tried to pat at the side of her face but it didn't take long for them both to be distracted by a sound not to far off.

A howl ripped through the air, a call to arms so to speak, Mortz leaps off of Ever in a single quick motion though his paw gets caught under him and forces him face first into the dirt, rolling over onto his side he's smiling up at her. "Well that's not Makism" he said with a quizzical look. But they were both used to the constant switch over and Everchime only trots over to him and ruffles the hair on his head with her paw "Not at all, wonder who took over this time" she said with a half hearted smile. Couldn't they just settle down for once and not be rushing from one meeting to another only to be reintroduced to a new leader. She was almost getting tired of it. But she loved this place, it was her first real home away from her parents and she didn't want to leave, not ever.

"Come, lets go find out who it is then shall we?" she said and started off in the direction, she walks slowly as Mortz leaps and bounds in front of her, she is happy to have him to distract her from her dark thoughts of Aerith. "Common Miss Ever, we're gonna be late" he sang out as he marched forwards, as they got closer and closer to the site of the meeting she could smell the others ahead and Mortz too seemed to smell them for he became more ridged and closer to her. As if he were trying to protect her. It was cute. When they did make it there she saw D'mani and two others with a pup in front of her. "Hello Miss D'mani!" Mortz shouted as he raced over to place a playful paw on her tail. Everchime moved in to sit next to the other female "It's nice to see you again D'mani" she said with a smile and a nod. Though her and Mortz looked near identical in coloration she was of a richer tones while his was still of the baby fuz and a brighter tone.

"I'm Mortz and this is my ward Everchime" he said beaming up at the two before them, "Oh Mortz, your so cute" she said with a smile as she placed a paw on his side and caused him to tumble sideways "your never gonna learn to fight unless you keep your balance little one" she said with a giggle as he scrambled to his feet and made to play tug-a-war with her tail. "I was the childrens ward when Weylin had the crown, not much use else where I'm afraid. And Mortz here is two and would like to be trained as a fighter if I remember correctly" she said turning her head and yanking her tail from his mouth "Yes, I'm gonna be a big boy, so I want to learn to fight and take down that mean ol' momma bear!" he said with a gest of growls and yips as he pranced around D'mani and Everchime. She giggled again and decided to let him have his fun. It had been a hard winter on them all.

What the male part of this couple did to her though, she gave a frightened squeak, for no one in the entirety of her four years of life had ever done so to her. "My word! Unhand me you rapscallion!" she said through muffled tones, Mortz hackles rose slightly as Silver put his mouth around Everchimes and she, the poor did had never had this done before was ridged with fear. Was he going to eat her? "you let her go this instance!" he shouted and pawed at Silver for a moment, when he let go though Ever moved the muscles of her mouth to loosen up the folds held in place and turned to look at Mortz "that's quiet enough Mortz, I'm sure he has his reasons, though I must say that was most intrusive to do on a first meet," she said to him. She would have submitted to the man, but that was just awkward. Her heart began to race (relative to Vidar feeling his pain when Devil attacks him) and she doesn't understand why she feels this way, something strange has happened, was it her shadow?
