Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Magnus was getting tired of being around his family. His mother did nothing to punish him for leaving the first time when he had found those other pups, so he figured he was allowed to go wherever he wanted and however far he wanted. Nothing was going to stop him, he was tiring of a lot of things going on at his home, and perhaps, just a little, it was wearing on him that Alchemy, the second born, was the favorite of his mother. He didn’t understand what made him so special, but it didn’t matter, really it didn’t. His mother said it all the time, as soon as he could hunt for himself, which he prayed to Hades it would be soon, that they were on their own. Clearly she wasn’t the most caring of mothers. Magnus could tell though that perhaps Malina, his second mom of sorts he guessed, might have preferred him to his brother. Whatever it was that made Rogue like Alchemy, made Malina not trust him. Something was wrong with him maybe, that was why his mother hated him, but he knew the way of demons and followed her instruction. Angels, were they all so bad? He had asked this and his mother had bopped him on the nose saying, never trust a true angel. He didn’t understand, wasn’t Malina an angel? Weren’t they living in the pack of angels. Hypocritical, and he had told her that, resulting in one of their many fights that his mother liked getting out of him.

His head hurt after those fights, he never remembered anything of what he would say or do, just always that pleased smug look on his mom’s face like she had did something right. He cared about his mom and in some primal way she cared for him. At the very least she fed him and bathed him when he got dirty, but he knew nothing of cuddling, or attention unless it was improving attacking upon mock prey or learning the ways of his demon heritage. She was hardening them, training them he knew this, he would be well learned in many hunting tactics before even other parasites would. He was taught in not one but two languages, but that was common in Diveen, as he found evident as he was running amok with all the other parasites of the pack hearing their Latin and English mixed about. He did not speak so childishly as them either. His mother made sure to correct all grammar and pronunciation of both languages; apparently soon they would be meeting their uncle Andras who Rogue spoke so highly about and she wouldn’t be having them fumble over words. Wonderful, two of his mother, but maybe he would be okay like his father was.

It was so much for a mind so young to handle, but he had too, he had to grow and be worthy and show he could handle himself. Well hopefully she liked this. Magnus wandered far from the den, farther than he ever had before, he had no knowledge of borders and lines, he knew there were such things as other packs, but not what borders were. How was he supposed to know as he crossed the Diveen-Glorall border that he had done it? It smelled a little different as he moved down towards the water-front pack, but he didn’t think anything of it. He spotted the black and white girl from a distance, his white and lightly streaked poison eyes setting on her as he watched her run across the lands in a wobbly fashion. He wasn’t much older than her, perhaps by a week, but he was able to move a bit better than her on his paws.

He couldn’t tell what she was chasing, but he started running closer to her, running up behind her just a little more sure footed than how she was. He could see something darting in front of her, it was a hunting practice a game, she was doing what his mom had taught him to do, only he would be successful, for if he wasn’t he would die in the world. Angels would kill him mercilessly, he would starve, he had to live, for true hell wasn’t was she was putting him through it was just a test of his might and his will to live.

He leaped up after she had, but demons did not have wings like angels, he soared but then was pulled back down to the earth, flailing his black paws at the insect swatting it, but loosing where it had went in his fury. His landing was far from graceful as well, falling to the ground like a rock he rolled a few feet away. The rust, black and white boy rose looking around for her target, but it was his as well. He had failed, he would starve that day should he actually have been with his mother.

”Maledicant illum…” He cursed softly. angry at his own weakness, rolling to his belly and looking the strange girl right in the face. Well now what was he to do. He had this girl staring at him and girls were weird… especially if they were anything like the one who didn’t like to be dirty or well any of the ones he had seen his very first adventure from his mom’s den.
