Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Things had been slow, in all matters of respect. The seasons had been slow and easy, though his children had undoubtedly proved to be quite a handful. He had not planned to be so stationary for so long - by now, he had hoped to have had a kingdom for he and his Caligula but things had seemingly changed. Children were much more difficult to handle than he had imagined - they were always hungry, and if they weren't hungry, then they were bored and such things went on and on. Though difficult, he found it rewarding but still, with the approach of another season since he had taken on Alcide for the rights to Spirane, his mind had begin to roam again. What of Spirane? Diveen? Glorall? Iromar had usually remained out of the question, his desire to avoid his mother's consistent failing a sure way of deterring him.

Rather than simply brood within the confines of his den, he had taken to venturing - his daughters would be content bothering his Caligula, if not exploring as they usually did. It wasn't as if he were overwhelmed by it all - he simply enjoyed his time to think, his time to meet others of whom he could share conversation with. There was always something new to learn about the politics of Moladion and with such a desire to rise to the top, he had found quite a liking to playing the social game. That is why he had eyed off the form of the boy, brown and black in the fields below him. There had been something about his scent that intrigued Tesseract - the scent of the mountain, the far off scent of Alcide. He had watched from afar, muzzle twisted into a curious smirk before he finally began his approach. He moved with confidence, his tail arched slightly to portray a pseudo-rank of importance. In his own world, he was already King. He simply had no land.

Through the darkness he moved, ensuring the boy heard his approach before he settled some distance from him. He sat facing out over the lake too, watching quietly for a moment before he slowly twisted his head to face the male. There was something intriguing about him, this stranger, besides his scent and Tesseract was most curious, of course.

"Spirane, isn't it? I'd remember that smell anywhere."

He settled back, wrapping his tail over his paws and once more staring out over the lake, though he continued to watch the stranger out of the corner of his eye. How would be the best way to go about this boy? Who exactly was he and why did he linger so far away from his mountain?
