Romance is in the air...this is probably the most beautiful and scenic place in Blossom Forest. For the athletic and determined to come with their mates, for time away from pups. Only adults may come here; some of the ledges are too far apart for teens or pups to cross and some too high to scale.

Mae realised that she was really here, seeing Terrel again after so much time, as he spoke her name. She released a whine, wanting nothing more than to bound over to him but holding herself back. Now that she was here, she was worried about where their friendship stood. He’d spent all this time wandering unclaimed territory, as far as she knew, and may not want reminders of the life he’d left. Her decision on how to greet him was taken away for her as the brute moved. She felt his head over her neck as his warm chest made contact with her side. The femme turned her head to bury her face into the fur where the base of his neck changed into his chest. Her eyes closed as she leaned into him, soft fur tickling her face. Warmth and Terrel’s scent surrounded her as she breathed in deeply. She let the breath out and with it all the tension she hadn’t even realised she was carry flooded out of her.

The male spoke, sending warm breath over the top of her neck, and a jolt of joy and something she couldn’t identify shot through her. An unseen smile on her face, she replied through a whisper of her own, “I’ve missed you too, Terrel, very much so.” Her tail was wagging slowly as they embraced. The length of time apart seemed to have strengthened her affection for him now that they were together again, and she was content to stay stood close to him, almost afraid that if she broke contact he’d be gone again.

Finally they separated and Mae glanced shyly up at him as he asked how she was. “I’ve been alright,” she told him, “I’ve met a few more of Saw Tooth’s members, but haven’t really done anything note worthy.” She’d talked to the beta, Buck, and met with a few other wolves she’d only seen or heard of before. It had been fun, but between talking with wolves and border duty she’d not had much to do. “Truthfully, it’s been a little lonely without you…” she admitted quietly, looking down to the ground.

Terrel’s comment about the dawn drew her gaze up again, and she looked out to the edge of the cliff. Her ears perked up as she looked out, taking in their surroundings for the first time. She didn’t think she’d ever been so high up and the steep drop allowed for a long view over Blossom Forest as the sun cast bright rays and caused long shadows. To the right she thought she could make out the parting of trees where the river ran through her territory and to the left the mountain sloped and dropped down, misted near the base. The view was breathtaking and her eyes widened as she looked on. “Woah,” she breathed out, entranced by the scene before her, “I can see why; this is quite the view you get from here.” She looked back to him with a delighted smile, “I rarely get up early enough to see the dawn, but it’s nice to watch when I do. I’ve never seen it like this before, though.”

When the male apologised for not calling sooner, Mae found herself shaking it off with a gentle, lyrical laugh. “Terrel, it’s okay,” she told him. It hadn’t been, but she wasn’t exactly lying. She’d missed him and worried about whether or not he’d forgotten her and if he was still healthy, uninjured. Now, though, her worries were washed away by seeing him again and she was feeling content to stand beside him, looking over the forest she inhabited. “You left to find your own life and work out who you are,” she continued, “I understand. I’m just very glad to see you again.” She did understand, after all. It may not be the same circumstance, but she too had left the pack she’d grown up in, to try and see what she could be away from the southern dwelling wolves. Her tail continued to wag as she watched him fondly.
