The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

The moon shone down onto the trees reflecting through the area and onto rocks and roots of trees as they spilled over certain areas of the land. It was a silent night, the cold wind singing its mourning songs through the tiny crevices of the leaves, leaving behind the taste of their breath. It was unforgiving as the moon betrayed the shadows and faintly pushed them back into their main lands, far away from the good land as possible. Two large eyes appeared over a branch, sending a whoo out over the breeze before it took off by dipping down onto the ground before soaring high into the night sky. Winter was soon to be coming, the brisk night air wrapping around those who dreamt in the moonlight, moving into the old nooks and crannies of tired bones trying to go asleep. One quick look and someone could say, “This is evil.” But they didn’t see the magic hiding deeper in the darkness.

Amber orbs pierced through the night light, shining through the leaves of bushes as her small paws traced the ground silently. The ess was a master of the night; no one knew it better than her. It possessed her with every finger it had, prying through her pelt and her mind, discovering the secrets she held for her to keep. The tip of her banner flicked in the wind, tapping slowly onto her leg and she turned around and waited for her colleague; her scent was not far behind. The vixen looked forward once more, her lips parting to taste the air to try and scent the destination they so badly wanted to find. It was best to journey in the dark since both of them did not have to be seen. She closed her mouth and started moving forward, not making a sound as the journey ahead of her started to begin.

The two of them were on a mission; one from their pack lands that could bring their pack safety. Perhaps some didn’t want to seek this kind of alliance, but the curiosity never failed to burn through their minds. The vixen trotted down through the soft dirt, kicking it up slightly as she slip down a small hill relieved of bushes and trees. The black ess hid behind a tree, waiting for her friend to catch up. She did not mean to take the lead, but someone had to do all of the talking. Looking tall and parting her kissers once more, she tasted the scent she had been dying to discover; Abendrot. This terra she had never even set close to; why would she need to go someplace that didn’t need assistance or a place that did not behold any of her business? Abendrot had never crossed the girl’s mind until today. Had her alpha even wanted her to go on this mission? Yes, Aurora was a very good pack and yet the wolves inside of it were enticing and welcoming. How did it taste for one to be on edge all the time, or what that even how it was in these moments of the world? Did Abendrot even have the air of being as creepy as it sounded?

The ess herself had never met their king, but there were rumors going in and out of the pack lands of a new queen, and maybe this choice would be sane enough to where they could become an actual ally instead of a possible enemy. She had never even thought that Kershov would choose a mate. There was a rumor that stopped long ago that he had been the lover of the deadly Queens. That story was already lost to the forests of time, and the ess didn’t want to go down that path anyway; today wasn’t about history, but about the present and the future. Aurora needed a reassurance that she was willing to find. The border came up too fast; she had to stop before she went barrelling over it. Of course if she did go over it would only be an inch or so, but his could be used against her pack and that was the last thing she wanted from this little outing. She waited her friend to come behind her before she inhaled. Was there a scent already coming along the breeze? Who was it? “Now we will wait.” The vixen waited calmly as the night breeze started to play with her fur.
