Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Return to Lunar Children

Her purpose for leaving Spirane had been a simple one! Alcide wanted her to meet others, but why he had asked such a thing from her as if it were a chore, she couldn't quite fathom. Why, it was something she would have done completely through free will! Still, she could understand to some extent why he wanted her to do so - over the last season, they had seen quite a number leave the mountain pack. It had upset her, of course, though perhaps the most heartbreaking of the departures had been Hush and Sen's family. Though she really did not know them, she had helped following their birth and thus, felt some sort of connection to them, or to their children at least. It hurt to imagine not seeing those babies grow to be outstanding wolves and she found a small part of her hoping they'd return to visit. Maybe they would see more children come the next spring.. she hoped so. She'd always had a soft spot for the young - call it her maternal side.

Truth be told, however, she really had no clue on where to find others, really. Her time as a loner had only been brief before she had sought a home, so her experience in the loner lands had been limited. Ah, how she so loathed that title... loner. As wolves, they were never truly alone, right? They were all family in some strange way. She had kept that thought in mind while traversing Mecor Valley, unwilling to let her mind wander to thoughts about the valley's catalyst - it was a site of destruction, and certainly not somewhere she intended on staying long. On her little legs, she had darted through the valley as fast as she could, all while keeping her eyes and ears wide open to the sounds around her. Really, a stranger would have been a God send right then - she needed the distraction. She hated being there. She hated imagining all the others that had lost so much because of the stupid crater... how could she not?

And finally, seemingly the God send she had been looking for made itself known. In the distance, by the tree line, she could see the form of another - dark, slight like she, though she still sat some five or so inches shorter. That was likely, however, for her entire life had been filled with battling against her small stature. It had taken her nearly two years to prove to her old pack that she was not simply some frail child; now, she had to do it all over again. With a sigh of relief and a determined nod, she had begun to jog forward towards the other female, her fox-like tail waving cheerfully behind her as she did so. It was only natural for her to smile, too, her face lit up into a warm, motherly grin. It couldn't be helped. She was born to extend her love and kindness into the furthermost regions of the world, staring (apparently) on the edge of destruction's landmark.

"Good morning!"

She called out from a distance at first, waving her tail once more and dipping her head into a polite bow before halting some ten or so feet away on the same bank as the other. Though she seldom liked putting such a distance between herself and others (it felt so much less intimate), she had fast learnt that many others appreciated the act. Still, she felt as if she were the least intimidating of wolves; at some twenty-five inches, she was a petite thing with small, puppy-like features and scars swirling up the length of her legs. She sniffed wearily at the other, her head tilting slowly when she noticed the foreign scents laced over the other; she was a pretty thing, young and petite with a coat most beautiful.

"Are you new here, by chance?"

She paused before flashing an apologetic grin, her ears flicking back as her tail swooped low, twitching sheepishly.

"I'm sorry. I should introduce myself before I go asking questions. I'm Niviaq."

There, that was proper, right?
