The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

It had been years since Natu had raised her own children. Sadly life had not been in their fortunes and after a few years of happiness, brief and quick, all her loved ones were snatched from her. All that was left of her family was a brother she hardly knew. That would change in time, she hoped, and perhaps she could once more have the comfort of another. Even so it was the season of children. Pups were abundant and the motherly instincts that drove Natu could be put to the test.

Natu has only been in this land a short time so she does not know the scents of all the packs yet and as such has no idea that the obsidian female happened to be one of the alpha's of Iromar. If she had known then it was possible she would show more proclivity towards wariness, but since she does not Natu knows only what the female's action and scents belie. This wolf has recently had her own pups. The scent remains strong on her. It creates a longing once more within Natu and the ache that she has for a few moments forgotten to arise once more.

She rolls over so that her belly is pressed against the tender shoots of grass and her paws are planted firmly on the ground if she needs to rise. But Lillith is cunning with her friendly smile and curious nature, cloaking her malicious attitude behind smiles and scents of pups. Not that the raven wolf could know it but if she had not the scent of children Natu would have instinctively been more wary. Natu does not fathom that any mother cannot be changed by the love of children. Alas, she is not always wise.

Cerulean eyes survey the relaxed wolf and Natu smiles in return, her shoulders relaxing with a breathless sigh. "Sometimes it is easy to forget that it is. Today is not one of those days." Lazily she blinks, drowning in the sounds of chirping birds and the rustle of new blossoms. "I am Natu, stranger. Do you hunt for your pups?" Of course she does - what mother would want to shake off motherhood so quickly?
