The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Enderly was like a shadow across this land. He flitted about with the movements of the sun constantly seeking new places to hide and creep, always searching for some new entertainment. Not that he had been here very long himself. A short stint, he could say, but already very eventful. It as as he slinks through the underbrush that blocks most of the sunshine, sniffing and wandering, he catches sight of the grayish, creamy fur that weaves over the crags in search of an entrance. The silky black male freezes, his own silver eyes watching the female with the hare in her mouth, ever an observer. It was so easy to learn things about another just by watching their actions and movements. Not every secret could be gleaned so easily but it always helped to have an idea of where to start. And Enderly had an insatiable thirst for digging up secrets and spreading them to the wind. Especially if it caused chaos.

Obviously this wolf was furtive and alert. The way she kept her gaze about her and the fact that she did not immediately tear into her meal spoke volumes of her personality. What did this girl have to hide? And he almost wanted to know. But he also felt like making a general nuisance of himself. Which gave him an idea.

So Enderly watches as she picks her way down into the cavern below before sneaking out after her, his steps light. She was a tiny bit taller than him but he outweighed her quite a bit so if it came to a fight they'd both be evenly matched perhaps. It all depended on her reception of her unwanted intruder. He waits for a time outside, just out of sight, long enough for the female to get settled or disappear into the murkiness of the cave. Then Enderly enters slowly and lets his eyes adjust to the dark. He pauses just inside the cave as he scopes it out, lifting his gaze until he can make out the lump of her body high above him. Was she sleeping?

With a mischievous grin Enderly presses against the wall, his dark fur blending into the darkness around him then lifts his head and howls. Loud, long, and with the echo it intensifies. She can't say he didn't try and get her attention. "Good morning lovely!" His words are silken and amusing in the sudden silence after his booming howl, his silver eyes turned in the direction of her nest high in the cavern.
