Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

It was a disease. One half the population seemed to be afflicted with and yet never had I truly believed my dear Neveah would be one such creature as to full under the illusion that any sort of forest was safe. Honestly, the way she is going her pelt will be so entirely leaf covered and dirt smeared that it may never return to silken perfection and as a parent I find that a highly agitating thought. Thusly, it was with some sense of dread that I set out to follow my youngest child’s trail through the woods, seeking to rescue her from the terrors of the undergrowth and perform a lecture on hair care the likes this land has never seen before. She shouldn’t be prancing about in the woods, the natural home of dirt and bugs and heaven knows what else and I blame entirely that….thing of her’s she has decided to keep for a pet. Alright, so I don’t hate Orion entirely, in fact the boy actually seems a decent creature by way of build and strength and personality yet his clear ability to lead my child into the dangerous of dirt-infested hovels where she risks being….touched by a rouge leaf. I blame Orion entirely. Because it is far easier to blame him then it is to consider my Neveah would ever exercise poor judgement and willingly desire to spend her time in this living hell.

Their voices were easy enough to find, or at least, they were when I was almost atop them, my ears having decided perhaps not to hear so well anymore, some sounds taking a little longer to be heard, just as some shapes seem to blur a little at the ages. I like to believe my eyes and ears are just staging some form of protest against me and yet I suppose I know the truth, some part of me already resigned to what has begun to steadily happen. I know- and that I know, for now, is enough- such thoughts reserve for myself alone and not to be considered in the presence of my child…a child who grew more and more lovely with each passing day. I wandered easily forward to the pair, lip quirking slightly upward at this mention of Azrael, my tail flicking slightly in this vague amusement before I stepped readily into the clearing, white pelt aglow even within this dappled light.

“I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone refer to your brother as classy, Neveah, though I am sure he believes he is.”

I paused long enough to brush against her, muzzle touched to her own before moving to settle myself beside her, old limbs protesting this momentary movement as I settled myself before the violet of my gaze moved to rest upon Orion.

“Why, might I ask, do you seem to think it is acceptable to lead m child around forests?”

Alright, not entirely tactful but it would seem today I feel like being a little blunt, one eye lifting slightly, waiting for any sort of response from the boy before I continued.

“Do you realise, Orion, that dirt is the leading cause of fur suicide, dirt gets into it and whole pelts just die. I’ve seen it and yet you seem content to risk my daughter’s perfect hair by parading about in a forest with her. As for you Neveah, when a tree falls on you….you shall have no one to blame….but Orion to.”

Maybe I was being a little dramatic, but I was thoroughly amused with myself in this moment and really, why not tease at the boy a little? I may be old, but I am still as entirely amusing as I ever was, don’t you think?
