Alone
Yes, that's the key word, the most awful word in the English tongue. Murder doesn't hold a candle to it and hell is only a poor synonym.
The sudden onslaught of emotions is almost too much to handle. It overwhelmed my thoughts and left me gasping for breath. There was only her. It was almost as if I could feel her being within mine, her heart beat, her emotions. It was like we had become one, our souls intertwined. Nobody had ever sparked these feelings inside of me before. I felt alive in her presence, like I could run to the ends of the earth if she asked me to, or swim across oceans to be with her. My desire to be alone.....it simply vanished.
There was an intensity in her orange eyes as she watched the silent letters roll from my tongue. "R.." she says, getting the first letter correct and earning a nod to tell her she was correct. "E.." she says, once more getting the letter correct and earning a nod from me. "I.." she pieces together another, my name slowly beginning to form on her own lips letter by letter. "C?.." she says, this letter much more difficult than the others but she is once more correct and earns a nod from me to tell her so. "H." she finishes with me, pausing for a second to allow her mind to piece together the letters and form my name. She suddenly looks up, her sun filled eyes staring into my split ones. "Your name is Reich."
I smile, my tail wagging back and forth as I nod my head to tell her she is correct. Other than Iblis, none knew of my name, and now my soul was apart of that group. I find joy in watching her own tail wag and a soft smile come across her maw. Then she does something completely unexpected, she whispers into my cheek ,"Will you show me your caves, Reich?" I am a bit surprised by this question, but none more than she is for saying it. "You don't have too." she quickly says, her eyes lowering with an embarrassment I was unfamiliar with.
I don't know what over came me, but I suddenly reached out with my nose, gently touching her cheek in a reassuring manner that she didn't need to be embarrassed about anything. The touch was like electricity, and I struggled to pull away again. I looked at her with a smile and nodded my head, telling her I would show her the wonders of this cave. I force my feet to move, turning and taking a few steps before turning back and looking at her, inviting her to follow but also warning her to stay close. There were many dangers up ahead, and I would die before allowing her to be hurt.
