They had stopped them, they had hurt him.
He had spent months recovering after his bad fall into the darkness. So dark only a little light had made its way to where the mostly black monster had climbed his way out of. He was hungry, very very hungry. The darkness only yielded to strange flying rats and fish and occasionally a wolf who grew too curious for their own good. He lived it up down there, ambushing them over powering them then devouring their very being with such ferocity as if he hadn't eaten in weeks. And this time he hadn't.
The unsuspecting female hadn't seen him coming. Much like the first one he had killed, though she was elderly and weak before being rescued only after he had gorged himself on part of her body. He tackled her to the ground overpowering her before slamming her face to the ground and breaking her neck. He panted the raspy eager sounded like a constant death rattle, was normal for him. He was out of breath but pleased, so pleased he was having another meal. Nothing sated him like wolf flesh, he was so like his father in this, though his father never wanted him, he was food for his father, for the dark shadowed one. He looked like the shadowed one, handsome and beautiful. Sometimes the monster realized it and used it to prey upon the females that came before him. This time it was just raw power.
He still rattled as he breathed, trying to catch his breath and drooling madly, for he couldn't eat until it returned, it only caused harm to himself, something he couldn't handle it made the meal less satisfying to him. The monster had done well for himself she was small but she would be enough. He licked his already bloodied maw before slowly crouching down to begin his meal. First the heart, then all else would follow. Ripping her flesh apart the beast began his meal, eager to get rid of the hunger that so many of his line shared.
