I knew I couldn’t remember mom, it had been so long. But Juno had told me stories of how sweet Mae had been, so kind and quiet, I wished I had been able to meet her before she had died. I knew Inessa wondered about her too, but without knowing who she really was, it was hard to explain to my own daughter that I never met my own mother, that she had tucked me away when a predator came running, and that she had died protecting me, leaving me alone, with just Juno to protect me, and she had taken me in. I could feel myself smiling because of the memory of Juno, she had been perfect.
My eyes wearily watch the grey and white male in front of me. To be honest, he seemed, off in a way, but I couldn’t be completely sure. He watched me in such a way that was…disturbing. He spoke again, and his question didn’t really make sense to me. Of course I’d always had them…where else would I..oh. I could feel the creepy shiver racing down my spine at the thought of ways I could have gained the colors. Gross. To be honest, I was begrudge to give the information, but I felt as if I may be safer if I tell him upfront what he wants to know.
“
Of course, I was born with them…”
