Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

HUNTER AND PREY

There was a moment, just before Viserion reached the other boy, in which he realized this stranger's body language was not exactly receptive to him. Despite that, the blonde adolescent called out a greeting and continued forward tail waving back and forth. He fell into step beside the monochrome newcomer, and was rewarded with the relaxation of his demeanor. He'd not appeared as any kind of threat, after all; just someone coming to visit. Taviora and Spirane were neighbors, it was a wonder more of their wolves did not come to visit more often.

He shook his ivory highlight crown as the duo began to walk further into the foothills. "Not yet, no; but I would like to visit soon. It was your scent that clued me in." Even if the girl Ankh hadn't been at the storytelling, the boy probably would have still been able to deduce his home. While there were certain aspects about the forest pack's scents that were similar to those of the mountain - pines and dirt and grass - there were unique accents to them as well. The different species of trees, which he could not yet put a name to, as well as the scent of taller grasses he guessed must come from meadows within the woodlands. Molten gold eyes popped ever so slightly as Arthfael introduced himself, happy to find his speculations about the girl at the storytelling was, in fact, his sister. "I'm Viserion; and that makes sense! Thats why I recognized your scent - her name was Ankh, right? The story was nice enough; I don't really believe in magic and all that sort of stuff. But I'm sure there will be more, you should come next time." It was with absolute ease that the two fell into conversation, and Viserion found himself rather enjoying the company of the deep-voiced boy.

There was a slight tickling at the back of his mind, trying to guess at who his mom might be if she had once lived here, and was a sister to Ailith who lived here now. Glancing his markings over, he wondered who had contributed the white, the black, and the greys. The only white and black female that used to live on the mountain was Orca, and she was his mother's sister, not Ailith's. So that ruled her out. Even though Arthfael's mentioning of caves stole Viserion's immediate attention, he still contemplated his companion's lineage in the back of his mind.

The notion of besting or one-upping his siblings had never been a concept that had interested Viserion. When he was with his brothers he often thought about when and who would come out as the dominant one of the trio - Rhaegal or Drogon. But other than that they were a team, and Kalseru had her place among them as well. Still, he was eager to provide Arthfael with a story of his trip to Spirane to remember, something his sister maybe hadn't gotten to see and so she would learn of it from her brother. "Come on, I'll show you a big cave with a creek in it." And with that he set off at a lope, further inland but sticking somewhat to the shared border between Taviora and Spirane, heading almost directly west. There were plenty of caves and the like further up in the mountains, but this one was low within the foothills and easily accessible.

Rounding a slight bend of the curvature of the base of the mountains, Viserion led the way into a slight alcove of trees where the mouth of a cave was neatly tucked away. A small, trickling creek ran out of the cave's mouth, but there was solid, dry ground on either side leading inside. Glancing at his newfound friend he smiled and then trotted into the dimly illuminated cavern. The ceiling was slightly cracked, allowing shafts of light to run within the cave. Viserion stopped, letting Arthfael decide where to go from here; though the cave did reach its end further within, there was plenty of room to explore.
