anemone
The longing for a family of her own was not a new, or unexplained thing. Anemone had always longed for her own, large family. Maybe it was because growing up, she had been the only one around after the meteor had hit. She had lost her brother during that, and she hadn’t really recovered from that yet. She still missed him, and wondered what had happened, but she knew he was probably long gone by now. She sighed, her mind thinking of all the possibilities for her little brother, but then again, that was so long ago, it was hard to think of it anymore. But that had caused the longing for her own family. Because she didn’t want to go her whole life alone. She could only hope that the size of her belly indicated more than one pup, because she knew that she didn’t want her children to grow up alone. But then again, in all her dreams she wanted to have someone there by her side, and that obviously was not happening. It broke a piece of her heart, knowing she had been so foolish.
Her mismatched eyes watched the male as he drew closer, the smile still on her face. She had never feared anyone, nor had she ever been afraid. Not really. She shifted, her belly getting in the way and so, she lowered her hind end into a seated position. Unfortunately, it only made her look bigger, but at least her legs weren’t hurting now. His voice reached out to her and she smiled a bit brighter. “I’m doing okay, I suppose. How about yourself? And I don’t think I’ve ever heard of someone drawn to another, but I’m glad.” She laughed softly. He didn’t scare her in anyway, so what if he looked alittle different than others? That didn’t matter to her. She never judged anyone by their looks.
