The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

male | seven | tied to striker | cobryn x enigma

Collecting herbs and other plants had become quite a pastime for him, which had been what Solitaire was doing for most of the day. He had gotten his rank and was terribly proud of it. The word itself didn't bother him one bit, and he honestly kind of liked it by now. Either way, there was an obvious strut in his step throughout the day, as well as mindless humming as he nosed around for roots and such. Yet it was the half crazed mutterings that had him pause in what he was doing, going to see what was going on. Solitaire found another wolf standing there, talking to himself or the rocks below, Solitaire couldn't be sure. Yet it was something in the words that had Solitaire questioning.

He had heard the name Cobryn and he'd asked, asked and when the male had turned to him and said he'd killed the male, ate him.. Solitaire's world was swimming. He'd stumbled away in a daze, unable to compute the sitation and knowing one thing; he needed to find Tristan. So he had run from the grotto, scrambling towards Glorall again, forgetting his hollowed log full of plants. None of that mattered just now. None of it ran through his mind. There was only this one blaring thing, screaming through his head that he knew what had happened and who did it and now he just needed Tristan's comfort. That was all he could really think of as he ran home.

He ran frantically within Glorall when he arrived, calling out for Tristan with panic clear in his tone. Solitaire was a mess, shaking and moving as if he couldn't understand how to become calm again. He just had to find Tristan, had to tell him what he knew.. figure out how to deal with that kind of information because right now he was falling apart. Not the reaction he thought he would have to hear such a thing, and yet it was too sudden, too unexpected for him to think it through. When at last he found his brother, Solitaire was spouting all that he knew from the wolf who had told him how Cobryn had died and was eaten, to what that wolf had looked like and where he was.

But while he was telling all of this to Tristan, it was beginning to sink in that there was only one way to face this. The way Solitaire would want to face mother's killer.. Rage was starting to build. And then, before he could hear anything that his brother might have been saying in response, Solitaire was rushing off again, going back to that place in the grotto where he had seen the wolf, because the idea of that wolf being gone and not finding the creature again.. Solitaire couldn't fathom that. The rage was blinding now, and he needed to act. Once he had caught sight again of the male he launches himself at the brindled wolf, jaws snapping at the male's hip and side, not thinking as the brindled male turned on him to attack.
