Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Zelda

She was content to gaze at the beauty and expanse that was the river. Her russet-brown tail wagging all the while as she wondered at it. She was happy to be learning about everything that there was out here. The fish, the trees even the small things like the rivers and valleys it was all so different compared to the forest. She knew of the angels and their recently lost home. She felt bad for them, some had come to stay with them in the forest and while Zelda considered it her home she never figured it to be the place she would stay in forever. Something inside her drove her to go somewhere else, be it the plains to which her blood held claim she didn’t know but she did know someday she would have to go there and see them for herself. No trees, how strange to think of a land with few to no trees upon it. She loved the forest castle that was her home it was amazing and if she went to the plains she would give them some trees. They were wonderful to nap under, play around and just sit and think. All manner of birds and creatures seemed to call trees their homes and she didn’t want them to miss out on the plains because of something so easily fixable.

She knew it was fixable, she had asked her mother before how trees were born and she had pointed out the acorns and nuts of the many trees saying if she buried one a tree would grow. Someday she would do that for the plains. Not today though, but she would ask its alpha if she could be allowed in memory of her grandparents who were now buried in the forest together. She didn’t know them, but her parents said they were wonderful, loving and truly kind… she wanted to know more… what they looked like and maybe meet some of her aunts and uncles but he had no idea where they were. She was deterred from her thoughts when a familiar scent touched her nose.

“Oh! Hyrule! It’s so nice to see you!” She started happily bouncing towards him her fur bouncing lightly as she did so. ”I never have seen a river this size, we just have small streams in Taviora. Uncle Amo and Colli Coza would never make me leave. . I wanted to get away and see all the new things like you do.” She looked back towards the direction of home thinking about the branch that had fallen and rolled ”I don’t think anyone noticed, they heard the sound. Nantli said she heard the crashing and asked if I was okay but I kept our secret don’t worry.” She was good at being a creature to depend on, tell your secrets and she would never let them go unless it harmed others and their happiness. Zelda was still an innocent child and she certainly liked the slightly older boy.

”You didn’t get in trouble did you, Hyrule? I know things… changed in Diveen. You are one of the angels, are you okay?”
