aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Loyalty means nothing unless it has at its heart the absolute principle of self-sacrifice

Though he had leaned toward her, she had been too far for him to touch. Awkwardly he had stumbled a step before straightening up, trying to regain his posture, before hastily returning to speaking to the ess. And so his words simply continued to fall from his mouth, trying to ensure that she would stay in Aurora Borealis. He wanted to help her get back on track with her life – help her grow stronger and more self-assured. Help her find her place in her life when she was so obviously lost. His gaze was averted but he could feel her suns laid upon him, watching him as he stumbled his way through the plea. Kalgalath did not know what she had been through thus far in her life, but he wanted to. Whatever had happened to her, or whoever had hurt her, he wanted her to be able to forgive it and move on. She needed a new beginning to her life… and he wanted to be her new beginning. Suddenly, with only the sound of her prints upon the earth to alert him to her movement, she rammed into him, her face pressed into his chest, hidden by his thick pelt. He could feel her tears wetting his hairs as they transferred onto him and her maw moved, words falling from her mouth.

I don’t want to leave Kalgalath. I don’t ever want to leave. I just to be with you. Please don’t leave me, Kalgalath. Her words were hardly audible as she spoke into his coat, but he still heard every word as well as hearing her lips move against him. A soft chuckle rumbled from his chest and he looped his nape over hers, pulling her closer to him. It wasn’t that what she said was funny, but rather that he felt it was ridiculous. Kalgalath was many things – loyal, protective, among others – and had done many things with his life – including running a pack, having pups, rescuing damsels in distress – but the one thing he never did was leave. He never abandoned those he cared about. “Why would I leave you, Sebring? I have asked you to come live in my pack… and nearly fell over myself trying to ensure that you actually would stay here. You don’t have to fear anything from me.” Her maw moved against his body but no words escaped and the brute could not tell whether the motion was a silent sob or laugh, or if he had merely not been able to hear the words she said.

I’m glad you want to stay, Sebring. Do you… do you want me to show you around? I know it seems quiet right now but there are quiet a few vargs living here and we will be likely to come upon them at some point. Until then I could give you a tour… help you find a den that is to your liking or help you make a new one if you would prefer that.
