Nakato
nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky |
There were some that believed that children didn’t inherit their parent’s personality. Nakato would have bitten their nose off had they told her this. She was staring at a perfect balance of both Tick Tock and Tobias. The child asked why the druid asked for permission to kill and she could have sworn it was like hearing Tobias speak but with the Monster’s words. With a flick of her ears, the Frankenstein thought of how to answer. ”Perhaps I worded it wrong. I guess what I meant to say is I give thanks to each life I take. For if I do not eat, I cannot live. But I must take another life, and I must be thankful to the creature who’s life I…” She wasn’t able to finish her sentence. The Monster’s child began to act strangely and all Nakato could do was stiffen up as she slowly invaded the older wolf’s personal bubble. Had this been her child, or a non-royal pup, she would have snapped softly to warn the pup it was not okay to do this. But some instinct told her that would not be wise to do with the alpha’s child. So, she let it happen. The darker girl weaved all around her legs, blending their scents together, all the while staring up at Nakato. When asked about her name, she finally moved out from under the healer and stood before her. Still uncomfortably close, but not as bad as before. The princess started to chant and it took the bob-tailed wolf a moment to realize she was saying her name over and over again. ”Nevermore? It is a beautifully mysterious name. It fits you, just like your aura.” Sure enough, Nakato blinked and there it was. A dark red color that seemed almost like a combination of her parents. The red was intelligent and noble, like her mother. But the darker shade was handed down from her father. It was cunning and full of rage. Put together, the color showed the child’s determination and lust for power. Just like when Nakato had first met Tick Tock, a shudder ran down her spine. This child would do terrible things and the druid felt afraid for any who got on her bad side. The conversation changed again as Nevermore’s attention returned to the fish. Dark ears cocked forward as she listened to the creepy child. ”Would you like to try one? I know you are still young, but it’s always good to test your skills.” Nakato moved back into the water and waited for the mud to settle and the timid fish to return. She snatched a small one that was too slow for her jaws and she thought of a small prayer, one that begged for forgiveness rather than gratitude. ’Spirit of the Fish, please forgive me for what I am about to do.’ She tossed the flopping animal far from the bank where it bounced around, gasping for air. The Frankenstein watched Nevermore carefully, waiting to see what the princess would do. |
