Many wolves looking for relaxation come to Blossom Field. A gentle breeze vibrating the blossoming flowers is quite a sight to see and it is quite a favourite for wolves to come with their mates.

A recent fire has ruined the scenery, half the field covered with soot and marked with scars of the flames. The other half is untouched, however.

Horizon's own response mimicked Akuji's, though he went on defense while Akuji's response was to go on the offense. Akuji's demon was nearly at the surface, which was surprisingly comforting. He felt as if finally the demon would be useful for something - destroying one of Farant's agents! Though it could never erase all of the evils that Farant brought down upon his son, the small amount of revenge would please Akuji. This one death would be the start of his payback against his father. His demon fueled his fire and regrew his hatred for his father, all of his memories clear as if they had happened only yesterday.

Akuji was held down and beaten and bit. Who held him down was a blur, who bit him and scratched him, and bashed him was unclear... But the varg who stood over him was always the same. It was always the same wolf. His keeper, his captor, his torturer, his father. Farant. Always it was Farant who told him that his life was not his own, that he belonged to Farant. That Akuji was naught more than a slave who happened to be royalty. It was Farant that he feared, Farant that he hated. It was Farant that had ruined all of Akuji's life from the day he had been born until the day that he was exiled. Perhaps it was a piece of Farant that was the substance of the demon inside of Akuji, a darkened shadow that had stolen away from Farant to instead attach itself onto Akuji, tainting him and his actions forever.

What had been a peaceful and amiable conversation had turned into the two brutes yelling at each other, neither realizing that the enemy that each had spoken of was the same monster. 'That bastard ruined my life! The only reason I’d ever be near him is so I could sink my teeth into his neck and feel his life drain away!' Akuji did not back down, not believing him one bit. Farant was the perfect liar and had many protégés who no doubt would also be proficient in that unique characteristic. 'If I hadn’t made that clear enough to you yet, Farant was my sire. I’M THE BASTARD CHILD, I was his slave. I was that little pup in the corner, that no one gave two shits about…' Slowly, the fortitude of Horizon's voice was lowering, his steam running out, and eventually, his vocals failed him and all that was left was a whisper. 'I only wanted to find a place that wasn’t in his grasp. I wanted escape, I left my only hope in that horrid place. I left the only wolf I ever loved and cared about because I just couldn’t stand being under his claws. If you don’t believe me yet, than I don’t know what will make you understand.' Finally, Akuji relaxed, letting down his spines until his body was more relaxed, though his demon protested.

'Akuji...?' Slowly, the kalak nodded. "Aye, Horizon it is me. So... You are not here to kill me?" Akuji waited for his response before saying anything else, and felt conflicted. Naturally, he did not often trust others easily, knowing how deep their evilness could run. But he also knew what Horizon could have gone through under his father's reign, and was loathe to give up the chance of having a comrade at arms who understood Akuji's past exactly. "Why... Why are you here then? How did you find this land that I was exiled to?"
