Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Dragonfly trotted to the secluded area she was told she should go. From the conversation they’d had with Dawnlust, the young silver wolf realized that she had stumbled into a blind dating event! It was odd that meeting this particular wolf would be so much more exciting than meeting a random stranger! Perhaps it was because she knew he’d be available, and looking for a mate as well. She was nearly three and while she had a year left until she was able to bear pups for a male, she was looking into finding one for herself.

She expected to have one when she turned four to continue the life cycle until she was infertile and old. She hadn’t been taught there was any other way about it, but she didn’t really question it; it seemed that’s what everyone she lived with and knew did or was planning to do. Regardless, she was delighted to meet a potential candidate for her future mate. Perhaps she’d take him hunting and make sure he was skilled with catching prey?

Or maybe she should go adventuring with him to someplace new to see his ability to adapt? There were all sorts of ideas in her head for making sure she’d pick the right male! However, she hardly understood what a date was either. This would be her first one. It couldn’t be that different than two friends getting together, could it?

With her thoughts buzzing excitedly, Dragonfly neatly sat down in the grass and curled her fluffy tail over her large paws. She turned her head to scan the surrounding brush for another wolf while her ears and nose worked to detect an approach from behind her. She wondered how different he would be from her while she waited patiently, though her hyper-alert posture showed her eagerness to meet her mysterious date.
