Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Liah✿

I want to learn to love in kind

Spring was a favorite time of the year for Liah. She had come from the woodlands not too long ago, trees still adamant in presence. She was on the lookout for looser soil. She wished to see sand; she wished to smell the salty air and rid her mind of her worries. Whether or not they were arguably good worries, she didn't know. The young wolf didn't like being alone. She developed insomnia because of it, unable to sleep even with a great shelter hidden behind thick, dangling vines. In fact she missed her hidden den, she had left it for this journey for tranquility. She missed mom and dad, her siblings. She was probably the only one to feel so homesick, or so she thought. Liah took this upon herself, traveling alone to find her place in Melodian. She hadn't found it yet, but then again, she was still so very young. That didn't matter to her however, motivation like a sunken anchor deep below the sea. Not enough strength to pull it back up.

The black and white wolf would find herself as much between Diveen's border and Ruieze Fields as she could get. Grass waved through the wind wondrously, making hills look alive and nurturing. She would find a high enough stump to plant her forepaws on, studying the view with a content smile, precious green eyes shimmering from the Sunlight. Hill after hill, that was all she needed now before she could reach her paradise. This destination of hers could be a getaway. Perhaps she could share it with others. Time would tell. When the wind tired out its bellowing calls urging her forward, she set her forepaws back on the cool grass and planned out the route in her head. She felt like she'd never ran so fast before, tongue lolling out with exhilaration as she was hurrying down a steep hill.

It was the middle of the day, reaching the peak of noon. Eyes glittered with certainty, the tangerine halos in her eyes more apparent under the Sun. The scenery isn't exactly what she wanted, as she wasn't looking out an endless oceanic view, but it was still calming to the eyes. The sand was so gentle on her paws, and since it wasn't quite Summer yet, the grainy particles weren't very hot either. Just a comforting warmth. She could see the island at the middle, head tilted as if pondering if she could make it there. She had never tried swimming before, so maybe it wasn't so safe to try. Another time, perhaps. Face pointed down right over the water, she would try to regather her features again. She was growing more feminine by the looks of it, legs taller than she had last seen them by reflection. She let out a small chuff, growing amused by her own curiosity upon herself. Liah would soon calm and sit herself down, scanning the water and breathing in the scent of the river. Shoulders seemed to weigh less, muscles relaxing and tail casually tapping the sand with the tip of her fluffy white tail. For a while she had some really pleasant thoughts, however her lonesomeness would come to haunt her still, unable to rid this discomfort. It wasn't that she was dependent or useless, she was simply a family wolf, the presence of others fuels her and keeps her positive. There was an imbalance somewhere that she needed to fix. The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.

She needed more than family. She needed friends. Maybe others needed friends too?
