During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

The male had settled into his new life at Munashii Gekko well. Some wolves would not have wanted to go from being an alpha of their own pack back down to the rank of omega, but it was not something that bothered Summer in the slightest. He had been proud of his pack, and Bright Moon had been his family for a long time, but he knew that it was not him that made the pack great, it had been the vargs that lived within it. He was just lucky enough to have been chosen at one point to be their leader. But he was in no means a dictator, and never abused his title of alpha. Often times he didn’t even think of himself as the alpha, but just as another pack member. He had been more concerned about the safety of those that he was with, Nzingha and Danger had been the two with him at the time, than keeping his title. There was no point in being called an alpha if he and the other beings in his pack were dead. The biggest thing that he had enjoyed about being the alpha of Bright Moon had been the ability to provide a safe home for any that needed it. When that was no longer possible, he knew it was time for him to step down and move on. Some would be too proud to do so, but he would rather find a new safe home for those wolves that he was still with than stay and risk their lives.

Summer still guilt about what had happened with two of his old packmembers. One had only been in the pack for a few days when he had come to help defend the pack and had lost his life. The smoky brute had been skeptical of Aimery at first when he smelt Abendrot so strongly upon his pelt, but Karla, his mate, had been in the pack for a while and he trusted her so he did accept Aimery into the pack. It was not fair for him to judge the male just because he came from a pack that had been hostile to Bright Moon in the past. The younger brute had shown that he meant what he said when he wanted to join and be loyal to the pack when he rushed to the scene of the bear attack. Summer had been horrified to see the other male get killed, and he wished that it had been himself in his place. Summer was the alpha, he was the one that had promised safety to so many vargs, and Aimery was the one who had died. Summer hadn’t kept him safe, and that was the one thing that he had wanted to do. And then there had been Danger. Danger had been in the pack for a long time, and Summer was glad that he was one of the more loyal vargs that he could count on. When Summer, Danger, and Nzingha had fled from Bright Moon, the other male had stayed with the trio initially. But then the other brute had wandered off, and it was just the ex-alpha and his adopted daughter. Summer had been too consumed with his own depression and emotions about leaving his home to really think about the situation and go after his friend and make sure he was okay. When he did see Danger again, when Summer and Nzingha had been joining Munashii Gekko, he was shocked to see the starved state he was in. If only he had made more of an effort to look after his friend, he may not have gotten to that point. Summer told himself he would not be selfish like that again in the future and that he would always make sure to look out for his friends and family better in the future.

And now here he was, no longer an alpha weighed down by responsibility, but an omega who did not need to worry about an entire pack. He still felt responsible for his niece, though she was a teen now and did not need him to be with her all the time, he still wanted to be there to help her grow up to be a good and strong varg. And he would try his best to look after his new packmates, but it was not as heavy a responsibility as it had been before. He still had many vargs to meet, including the alphess, Ameira. When they trio had joined he had met Horizon, the first maned wolf that he had encountered since Shae, the female who had brought him his niece when his sister died. And another varg, Artemsis had greeted them at the border. They had not gotten around to getting a tour as of yet, but he was glad that he at least knew two names and faces within his new home. As the smoky colored brute was taking a tour on his own, he heard a call ring through the trees. He did not yet know the alphess, but he could only assume it was her. Normally he would have wanted to go to a meeting with Nzignha, but she had gone out recently, and he was unsure if she had returned or where she had gone. He had been worried about her wandering off on her own at first, but knew that she was old enough too and that he could not smother her. He just hoped that she would answer the call as he was.

Smoky colored paws carried him through the still unfamiliar trees. He would have to take more time to explore the terra and get to know the lands of his new pack. As he approached the group, he saw two familiar faces, Nzingha and Horizon were already there. Besides them was a female, who he assumed to be Ameira, and a brute that he did not recognize. Summer caught Horizon’s question though, and put it together what had happened. Someone had challenged the femme for her position, and it seemed that it was this brute. His form approached his daughter, rubbing his pelt along hers in greeting. He also gave a warm smile to Horizon before speaking. ”Hello, Ameira I assume? My name is Summer and it is nice to meet you. I have already met Horizon when myself and my daughter Nzingha joined earlier. I am glad to finally meet you and to offer my loyalty to you in person.” He gave her a respectful bow as he waited to see who this brute was along with the others. His form sat down besides the darker colored female, waiting patiently for any news.
