Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Tauriel
do not go

Snow white paws stepped lightly upon the soft, sandy shores of the lake. There was not near so much hesitation in her as there had been the first time she had ventured to this spot more than a year ago. Now, the girl moved confidently into the shallow waters; long, graceful legs that were near complete in their growth cleaved through the water with ease. Striding further into the reservoir, her blackened belly touched the water, after another few steps it reached her back, and then she reached a point where she could no longer touch the bottom and she swam. The refreshingly cool liquid sluiced through her fur, a welcome reprieve from the warmth of the late autumn day. Though the days could still reach sweltering temperatures, the nip of cold in the night air hinted at the change of season that was just around the corner. Soon, when the water became too frigid to swim and thin ice caked the surface, she would be cut off from the island that lay within her sights - until the ice created a solid pathway during the coldest months of the year. For now, however, she simply enjoyed the swim, giving no haste to her paddling as she let herself meander towards the island's shore.

When she reached a point where she could feel the earth beneath her paws once more, she pointed her nose towards the banks and continued forward until only the white of her paws were still submerged. She paused, bracing to shake the excess water from her fur, before continuing onto dry land. Bright green eyes haloed in sunset orange glanced around the familiar little oasis - she had visited the island a handful of times over the past year and a half. Almost immediately the small cairn of rocks she had created in the nook of a tree root caught her attention. Her heart fluttered for a moment before falling, but she moved towards her little private treasure trove nevertheless. Ever since she had decided to leave Spirane after Daenerys' defeat, she hadn't really had a place to call her own. At first it had been something that made her very nervous, being out in the wide world on her own, without her family and without a true 'home' in the sense that so many wolves defined it. This spot, like a few others around the common lands of Moladion, had become her places to cache items of importance to her.

Carefully, she picked away the top rocks to expose the contents of her small stash. She glanced over the items - an unusually bright colored feather, a unique multi-toned rock that she now knew was an agate, and other beautiful and distinctive paraphernalia - assuring nothing had been taken. For a moment she felt a stirring of nervousness, of loss, but she nosed aside the feather and found the shining moon hidden beneath. She sighed softly, grasping the pearl gently and withdrawing her head to set it on the beach between her paws. Nosing it, her shoulders fell slightly in sadness. After meeting the four young males from Taviora that day, she'd felt a stirring of unsureness about the things they'd said about her former Queen. It hadn't taken much asking around Spirane on one of her visits back to the mountain to check for her family to learn how many embellishments had been made in the story they'd told. Part of her wanted to find them and give an objective side of the story, but she just couldn't understand why they would lie to her as they had. Especially Herschel, who had gifted her with the pearl that now rested between her paws.

Once more, she nosed the keepsake that she still treasured, despite the falseness she'd learned about what they had said. Black ears rimmed in white cupped forward as she sighed softly and took the smooth round object between her teeth, moving back towards the hidey hole she'd devised to deposit it within once more. But she didn't replace the rocks of the cairn just yet, deciding that perhaps it was time she made a new memory on this little piece of paradise. And surely she would discover some memento to keep, to mark this day, and this place, anew within her memories.
