Back on Earth, with his pretty pale skin, green eyes, auburn hair and freckles dusting his shoulders, with a love for mythology and stories, Charybdis’ name had been Zachariah. The boys called him Carrie for short. He hated it. And sometimes when he got angry enough bad things happened around him. Unexplainable things. Like that time his parents told him they had adopted him. It seemed like a storm built around him and then burst, the electricity in the house dying out into blackness at his sob of confusion. His parents dismissed it as a weird coincidence, but Charybdis knew there was something more to it than that. And he wanted to know what.

*Optional backstory for whomever wants to adopt Charybdis. He could be related to Nim, I was thinking son, but if you preferred cousin or little brother, that’s fine. Nim wasn’t exactly responsible for her family when she should have been back on Earth, she had a bit of a drinking problem and would have given up any offspring (if she didn’t erase it from her mind) or younger siblings she was set to care for.
