Things never seemed to go as planned for her and certainly wasn’t today. She continued trying to pull and get the mangled briars from her fur. She hadn’t expected anyone to come so quickly when she had yet to even make a call. Asteraia it seemed had a good organization of wolves and border patrol to be able to find her so quickly, least that was how she saw it at the moment. She hadn’t noticed the mostly black and white boy right away. Her gaze so fixated on getting the burs out of her tan feathered fur of her legs. She was still feeling worn and tired, even grooming was feeling a bit like a chore until finally she caught the movement out of the corner of her eye.
Her breath caught for a moment when she saw him at first. The feeling was familiar, something she hadn’t felt in a long time, but it was so different as well. She realized she was staring, front leg lifted to her chest and her figured hunched over and far from poised in any normal sense just as unnatural looking as the boy marched so awkwardly then suddenly hit the ground. He was acting so strange, but her own feelings internally were just as much so. She found her breathing suddenly calmed, but her insides were fluttering, it wasn’t the feeling in her heart like what Hyrule had brought, but something deeper, something like what her shadow Balor had brought to her. He brought something different, it felt vicious, like it was a fire ready to explode, this was more like leaves on the wind. Gentler, more innocent than something ready to consume all the world as Balor wished.
She didn’t know it was possible, she felt her bond with Balor fade years ago and she thought that was it, she no longer would be able to find another imprint. She hadn’t been told the tales of wolves re-imprinting, sure her grandmother had an imprint before her grandfather, but that was before the fall of the meteor… it was something different than just the fade of Balor. It made more she guessed, but her grandfather, her mother, no one else in her family that she was aware ever had more than just their one imprint. She was certain though, this was like Balor, but different, he was her imprint.
He was acting oddly, but part of her felt it was this new bond’s fault. This sudden new feeling could knock the wind out of anyone, and she always heard it was stronger for the males than it was the females. Her body shook, but from weariness or nerves she couldn’t tell, she felt her heart race slightly in her chest as well, but again that could have all been just because of the run she had just made. Finally she found her voice, speaking lightly and calm despite the sensation that was both new and old, ”Please, you don’t have to hide. It’s alright.” She moved as she spoke, allowing her form to not be bent in such an awkward way, though she didn’t move any closer. Zelda simply sat herself upright, feeling slightly embarrassed for being spotted in such a state of disarray, though part of her no longer cared. She was certain, he was her new imprint and she hoped she could get to know him. Things were never simple, or easy, but she always hoped it could be.
